Wow.
This was actually a more believable version of why Edward left than in the book (I know, BLASHPEMY - but it is IMHO!). I think in the book, when he told her he didn't love her it was a totally heinous thing, and as a shrink I didn't believe that she would take him back after he lied to her and made a decision about HER future.
In your story,I understood that he was leaving bc of the bloodlust AND of Alice's vision - THAT makes sense. He loved her enough NOT to WANt to KILL HER. I know he had to scare her (but she needed to see that to let him go) and it was more honest than what he did in the story.
I look forward to seeing where this goes. Well done for you first fan fic!
