Edward's profession of love was so very beautiful! And I really liked how everything started out in a quarrel and ended with the perfect first kiss... swoon
I think it's amazing to see how an argument between Edward and Bella could actually turn out, since there's never anything of that sort in the books.
And I'm very curious to read what's going to happen next!
Will Edward finally tell her what he really is? I mean, Bella's not stupid and their little fight must have aroused many questions within her...

Author's Response: I got a *swoon*? YES! And I totally agree with you about a lack of any real argument in the books. I think that when you love that intensely, it's bound to happen sooner or later... I mean, even when they were fighting it was so ... reserved?
I'm glad I've piqued your curiosity, I hope I can keep it throughout the rest of this thing... I was expecting it to be a 10-15 chapter thing, but apparently I'm retarded b/c it's looking like it's going to be a bit longer.

Author's Response: i can assure you, the EVIL was not intended... For some reason I've been writing in cliffhangers and not really noticing it too much... But hey, don't fight the process right? I'm glad you liked it anyway... I wanted their first kiss to be just... pent-up emotion... even as they were doing it, I wanted it to be restrained... 14 coming soon!
And I know it's pathetic to do this here, but uh, where's chapter 8 of yours? Hm? X

Are you SURE you meant to leave it there? Because I think there's probably a bit more you needed to add, right? Like the rest of that scorching kiss??? You aren't really going to make us wait until the next chapter, are you? It will be like days and DAYS before you update again!!
Whew. Okay, you are officially my favorite writer. You write angst well, you write befuddled Edward beautifully, and you write romance hot enough to burn my laptop! And that's just from an argument and the beginning of a kiss! Imagine what you could do when you really get started!
So the whole thing was wonderful, of course. I loved Bella's reaction to Edward being in her room. She was so angry at him throughout this whole chapter; I felt sorry for the poor guy! I also liked that he turned away when she got out of bed. He's still a gentleman in his own way, which gives me such hope for him! I love how he kept trying to explain to her that he really didn't know how to have a relationship, and she just wasn't getting it. He's trying so hard! Also loved the family's reactions; they were spot on. Especially Rosalie! Her little snarky remarks cracked me up.
Finally...I get the feeling you've been waiting to write the last three paragraphs of this chapter for a long time. If it's anything like when I write, these have been hovering in the back of your head for awhile, because they were just that perfect. My favorite parts:
*****Even now, I want to kiss you and keep you and tell you that you are everything- everything- that I have spent a lifetime searching for! ....
Because fate has punished me long enough... Because even when you hate me, I think that maybe... Maybe, you can learn to love me too....
in the next moment everything was her: Her warm skin on mine, her silken hair against my neck, her breathless sighs in my ear... And finally, mercifully, the soft touch of her lips on mine.*****

Author's Response: LOL. I HAD to leave it like that! But, as you already know b/c I'm so slow at responding to reviews, I went into the kiss a little more.. But not too, too much I hope? I'm a big fan of the slow burn... Which, at times, I know is loathsome.. And I didn't take too long to update again... Qjmom had my next chapter up a few hours after I put it in the validation queue... So she's awesome.
And yes, I have been waiting to write that last chapter for a while, even though I didn't know what I was going to write until I actually sat down and did it... I tend to get little flits of lines that pass through my head during the day or night... Or get a random word that'll set something off... And in this case in particular, I was projecting... Sometimes, don't you feel like you love someone so much that you just want to apologize to them for it? Like... You want everything of them and it's so effing ridiculous b/c reality shouldn't be that way and then to be so demanding of their every thought and every second? It's the best and worst kind of way to love a person... Because in the end, that'll result in some pretty codependent crap. Well, maybe it's a personal defect... But I think that's the way that the two of them should love each other... In a completely insane way. But it's okay, maybe? Because maybe that's what they need. Sigh. Sorry.
Haha, I'm glad you liked Bella's reaction! I spend 1/2 the time trying to write myself out of corners! Like, of COURSE Bella is going to be upset... What did poor Edward think? I'm glad that the scene worked out in the grand scheme of things though...
Well, I take it to the darkside in Chapter 14... Let's hope that I can somehow manage it.

Ahh! I just love him telling her how everything is. No sweet begging just him putting it out there how he feels. They fight well with each other.
Oh and I just loved this line:
"Oh God, Edward. You're not a predator, you're just an idiot"

I really liked what you did with this chapter. All to often we are given Bella and Edawrd - a relationship simply thrown at us which we are supposed to buy based off of assumption, rather than an author actually taking the time to build it up themself. The majority of this chapter was spent building, I really appreciate that.
This line, in particular, I loved with all the fierceness it demonstrated:
"I wanted everything, every part of her. I wanted anything that might cause her to feel even the slightest flicker of emotion to be solely for me."

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Sometimes I worry about the whole 'too much, too soon' or 'unrealistic' thing... But you know, I think it's a combination of lots of things that justifies him loving her that way.. It's more than just possession or curiosity, I think. And I really am hoping that the 'fierceness' of his devotion to her is tangible... He'll have to make some ... choices in the future. Thanks for reading!!

Author's Response: I know, right? It's a bit of a stretch... But I like to think that there's something deeper than biology that wants them to be together, you know? For me to justify writing the way I do, I've had to kind of rely on the premise that it's inherent to them both... Sigh. There I go again, being overly romantic. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Loved that daydream sequence at the beginning. Hoping that comes to fruition eventually. :-)
The limited bit of Edward's backstory about waking up as a vampire and years of lonliness was so interesting. Especially that he had his own drive to drive animals instead of humans w/o Carlilse's influence.
I love your descriptions of him smelling Bella for the first time. Very vivid.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked the daydream since it was an add-in. I wrote it originally, but took it out, then put it back in... We'll have some romance in the future, hopefully a bit better than that? We could use some actually physical affection in my story at this point couldn't we?

Author's Response: I'm glad you discovered it too... I get what you're saying though... I usually don't read fics until they're done for exactly the same reason... I just HATE waiting... I picked up reading a story when it was about 25 chapters in and thought, "Oh, it'll be done soon..." and now we're on chapter 30-something and I'm like a crack fiend waiting for each chapter.
