I came across this story randomly and I must say it is really well written... I love edward and his "discovering" new emotions and the humour in this story is fantastic :) I wonder what will happen with the volturi... well all I know is that I'll defianetly be waiting for a chapter....

i liked the background about Edward's role among the Volterra. it helps me understand the life that he is contending with. He's also being very sweet with Bella. Hope she understood what he was saying about her never being able to win a footrace with him, but he would always put her first. (That was a nice way to summarize his feelings, btw.)

Your dark yet vulnerable Edward is glorious and irresistible. No one-dimensional Bella here either. She is a stunner-full of zest.
I was especially touched by Edward's vulnerability when he told Bella that she came first before his desires or wants. It wasn't over-done or cliched and you made him seem tender, wondering and introspective.
So well-done. Looking forward to more. Thanks so much for writing!

I thought Edward promised not to call her Isabella anymore. Or was it just the way he said Isabella?
Edward has done a lot of ugly things for the Voturi. Immortal children... so sad.

I really enjoyed this chapter! Taking it to the dark side a little bit was fantastic; it brought Edwards character out into more light. Do it again! Can't wait for the next update. :)

Oh good, a punch in the stomach..I needed it, the story needed it. If one does not know how dark and terrible things really are, then anguish is not justified, it is a sham. So we have Edward slayer of immortal children... (an issue, by the way, that deserved to be explored). Is is not surprising that he is so.... anestherized ,internally, that he has almost no normal reaction to anything.
I don't know where you are going but I want to follow.

Author's Response: haha, it was a rant wasn't it? That's the longest monologue he's had in this story. Most of the dialogue is still in his head though I'm hoping eventually he'll be able to start saying it all out loud...
And your comment about it being on stage makes me particularly happy as I often say the words out loud when I'm writing... Thus, all of the (...) and ( - )'s. But it makes it more believable, I think, when you can try to hear it?

This story captured me...I just read all 13 chapters in one sitting because I couldn't stop. And thank you for making Bella sassy. That was one thing lacking in SM's Bella...she needed to call Edward on his shit. Kudos to you.

I had to come back and reread Chp 12 a second and third time it was so beautiful. His confession, sigh... You are an incredible writer, btw, I'll probably be rereading City of Lights several times over as well.
