Loved it! I am so ecstatic to have found your story! I desperately needed my Jacob/Bella fix and I came across this amazing story and, so far, I am flying on Cloud 9! You have so captured Jacob's and Bella's "voices" and the flow of the story is fabulous! *sigh* Bella is so silly not to just go with it. Maybe you can replace her name with mine (Cristina) for the rest of the story. :-p

i was kind of scared to read your fic when i saw that you would do each chapter from both bella's and jake's point of views but i love the way you do it

Author's Response: Yeah, I think that throws a lot of people for a loop at first. When I started writing it, it was just from Bella's POV, but it just felt like something was missing. I quickly realized that if I was the only one who knew what was going through Jake's mind, the story just wouldn't be what I wanted it to be. I still haven't found any other stories that do the dual POV quite like I've done...I wonder if that just makes me weird ;)

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I loved the books, and I'm glad Bella ended up with Edward, but I couldn't help but feel bad for Jake. And to be honest, I can't believe how many Jake-haters there are here? I know he wasn't Edward, but it's not like he was Satan or anything... So I just had to give him a chance.

Author's Response: Yeah, I had a hard time keeping that chapter "clean." It was so tempting to go the other way, but I wanted them to build on their relationship more before I took that step. But that shirt will come in handy eventually.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm still a big Edward fan, too, but I guess I was inspired by some of the other fics I read. When I discovered fanfiction, I read a few Jacob/Bella stories that sucked pretty bad, and it finally drove me to write my own!

Pairing Jacob and Bella is the most obvious "what if?" story anyone can do, so I was pretty surprised myself when I couldn't find any (well, only a handful) of good ones. I love Edward/Bella too, but I just wanted to explore the possibility of something else. I'm thrilled that you're enjoying it!

Author's Response: I'm working on it this weekend. I was on a nice role until my husband decided he wasn't cut out for marriage and we had to sell our house. But if I can keep from having any more drama in my life for about the next 24 hours, I should be able to get another chapter in ;)

Will Edward actually reappear in this story at all? Just so I know in case I start reading it.
Author's Response: Breathe Again focuses mainly on Bella working through the issues she was left with when Edward took off, and whether or not she can make it work with Jake. In the sequel that's coming (to be called Solar Flare) Edward will be coming back. The way I see it, according to New Moon, Edward was close to coming back anyway, so in order to stay true to the characters and books as much as possible, it only makes sense that he'll reappear. Then the big question will be whether or not Bella wants him back.

Loved it! I'm impressed so far with how you so easily get into the minds of both Bella and Jacob. I really think you've managed to authentically represent the personalities of both characters so far. :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I know it's an alternate universe and all, but I just couldn't stand to change Bella and Jake into completely different characters. I loved them so much in the books, so I try to keep them as in character as possible while throwing some different possibilities their way.

Here's my dirty little admin secret: whenever this story pops up at the bottom of the queue, I cut it to the front of the line. It's that good. There's a lot of stories that have to wait a week or more to get validated. I can never wait to read this one...so I always read it before anything else in the queue if there's a new chapter up. This one always gets validated within ten minutes of me seeing that it has a new chapter up. I'm addicted.
