Author's Response: LOL! I think we as the readers are just so used to the idea of Jake being a wolf---and we love him so much---that it would never occur to us *not* to go running up to him!

Thank you for posting a new chapter so quickly!! LOVED IT! You really are doing a great job. BTW I initially didnt think I would like the back and forth with every chapter. Now I am wishing all of the books (actually all of my favorites in and out of Twilight!) were done this way. Its great seeing all of the things we miss with only one perspective!! Author's Response: Thanks so much! The dual-POV is definitely different, and I think a lot of people have trouble getting used to it, but it sounds like you've figured out my reasoning behind it. When I started the story, it was all about the miscommunication between Bella and Jake, how they reacted completely differently to things that were said and done, and doing it in both POVs was practically a necessity. I only intended for it to be a few chapters, but the feedback was so good, and my reviewers kept saying things that gave me new ideas, that it just turned into the never-ending story. I have to agree with another one of my readers: If SM had given us more of Jake's POV when things were good (and not just when he was all angsty and depressed), I think a lot of the readers would have just fallen in love with him.

You really write action well. I was holding my breath, even though I knew Jake returned from the previous chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you! I actually debated about the whole water scene for a while. I considered putting it in the previous chapter since everyone would already know Jacob was fine, but I finally just decided to go with my usual formula.

You write such a great story... every time I get your updates, it brings a smile to my face. Yay!! And this chapter was ADORABLE. I love doggy-jake ;-)
As for my thoughts on imprinting: If Bella ends up with Edward (as much as I love Jacob), I feel like the BEST way for that to happen (because I would be so sad if Jacob got dumped) is for Jacob to imprint after Edward comes back. So, there's some angst for Edward seeing Bella with Jacob... some angst for Bella trying to decide what to do .. and only happiness for Jacob! At least, that's what I hope happens :-) Jacob imprinting on Bella would also be good. But, hmmm...
I can't WAIT to see where you're take this! I'm so curious :-)

Author's Response: You know, I hadn't even considered that, but now that you mention it... The whole wolf thing, how he feels about not being one, how he feels about Jacob's place in the tribe now...that could be really interesting!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I fell in love with the characters in the books, and while I certainly love some stories that change them up a bit, my goal with this story is to make it a true alternate ending. I try really hard to keep everyone as close to the originals as I can.

Author's Response: Well, to be honest, they're all short...well, most of 'em anyway. I don't pay any attention to word count when I'm writing, so chapter length just ends up being whatever it takes to get my points across.

You did a great job of incorporating Billy into the wolves' action. It would have been too one-sided if it was just from their POV. Just because he isn't a wolf shouldn't lessen his role. Also how you described Native American culture is a blessing. I am half Choctaw and I love reading positively about legends, mystical, (real or not!) Keep up the great work!
Author's Response: Thank you! My great-grandmother was full Choctaw, but I unfortunately know little about her or our heritage. Back in her day, they were so discriminated against that she wasn't even allowed to vote (even though women and other races could), so she did her best to hide her true heritage and just fit in as well as she could.
To tell you the truth, I was a bit nervous writing Bella's POV when she started thinking about the whole Native American sixth sense thing. I wanted to incorporate some stereotypical white person observations, but I had my fingers crossed that no one would be offended, so I'm just thrilled to get your review!

Author's Response: Thank you! I don't really have a set updating schedule right now because a lot has changed. I used to just submit a new chapter everytime the last one was validated, but then Roo (the most awsome validation beta ever!) set my story to auto-validate, so I've spent the last few weeks trying to get everything I have written so far posted. Anyhow, now I plan on updating at least once a week, but I'm hoping for twice a week if I can keep the creative juices flowing.

I'm at the university right now and I shouldn't be reading this! I should be studying! But I was checking my e-mails and I saw the notificatiion for the update and I just couldn't resist it.
It's great that Bella isn't afraid of Jacob because he would never hurt her, I'm sure of this. I don't find it very awkward that Jacob can sometimes be a giant wolf and maybe this is awkward!
Anyway, I liked the chapter. Is Jacob still hurt or did he alreayd heal? I suppose we'll find out in Jacob's POV.
