Very powerful and thought-provoking single-person POV. Precise and direct. Very human and inspiring. If only it were to happen to our Robsten... you nailed it,.. and nailed it big!

Great story.  Loved that they are best friends as well as husband and wife.  I, too, married my best friend and we are still going strong at 28 years.!!

The way you wrote the story is very refreshing. I love it. I didn't know what to expect of the storyline but it ended beautifully. Thoughts are sometimes different than actions, it is so human. I love that it's so close to reality. Thank you.

This was very lovely, for so many reasons. I'm glad you found it and shared it with us. Love, no matter how deeply we feel it, isn't always easy, or free of messiness and heartbreak. Sometimes we can overcome obstacles, sometimes not; but in the end, it all depends on the individuals involved.

Author's Response:

I agree with you; love isn't always easy, and it really is up to the ones involved in a relationship to want to see things through. There's always a choice to want to be there. That's not to say, of course, that negative issues shouldn't be addressed or worked through, but wanting to be with someone you love because you believe the best of them makes all the difference in whether or not a relationship will last. Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts.

A lovely piece. True love isn't hearts and flowers and smiles. It's grit and dirt and pain. True love sees things through to the end.

Author's Response:

It's humbling when an author I respect approves my attempt at telling a story. Thank you for reading and for your kind thoughts. You're right -- true love isn't just the frills and good-feelings. It's seeing each other through the very worst and still wanting to stand together when it's all said and done. It was my hope to do that love justice. Thank you again. :)
