well. Tanya.. wonder if he is screwing her yet?

I think that is great news. Not bad. Promiscuity is not something you should be proud of. Being chast and waiting for a special someone is better than giving away your most prized possession, yourself.

Author's Response:

Very well said, and... he waited for the right one :)

21 to her 38. Well I guess that is better than 108 to her 17. LMAO

Author's Response:

LOL indeed... it's more common the other way around, but when the woman is the older one, she's suddenly a cougar... *sighs*

i keep thinking ol Jakey may have something on the side. You know men even at that age still like sex.

Author's Response:

They certainly do, I don't think there's an age for men that it ever stops ;)

"I just...checked out for a moment...when I saw your shoes," I whispered between kisses. My lips gently nibbled the top of her ear. Her chest was heaving with a heavy intake of breath.

"You like them?" she whispered. The rough edge to her voice made me sweat, and I let out a low moan as a confirmation. Bella's hands came up to my biceps, and she slowed pushed me backward until I felt the bed against the backs of my legs. I sat down, not sure what she wanted. She sat down beside me and lifted her feet up into my lap.

"I though you'd like them," she said softly. She twisted her feet in my lap, showing me the shoes from all angles. I picked up one of her feet and brought it up to my mouth to kiss her instep. I smelled the leather and some sort of creamy lotion. She moved her other foot to my crotch and pressed her ankle against the bulge, her heel digging into my thigh.

"I like them a lot." I stuck out my tongue and licked the top of her foot up to where her jeans covered her ankle. I pushed the denim up, my tongue following. Her skin was soft and smooth and warm, and the plans of going out had left my mind at this point. Bella's hand raked through my hair, then grabbed a handful and pulled hard. When I looked at her, I was met with a seductive gaze, her bottom lip between her teeth and a small smile playing on her lips.

"Let's go," she said softly. "I promise I will keep them on...later," she added with a small shrug. A grin split my face and I bit down on her foot gently before letting her go.

So how big is her apartment? did she purchase it? I'm just confused because i can't see anyone doing that much to an apartment your renting?

Author's Response:

Thanks for reviewing! I haven't exactly measured the apartment. It's two floors; bathroom, kitchen, living room + extra room on the first floor, couple of bedrooms on the second. I have it all in my mind but couldn't find any photos that come close to it... About the renting - I totally missed that, thanks for pointing it out! I meant to change the part in Chapter 10 where she's signing the lease, but I didn't... interesting to see that you mention this now, while this has been going on for a while and the readers and my beta's haven't noticed it ;)

After my teary confession, we sat and held each other silently for a while. I wasn't really

grasping what I was getting myself into, but I couldn't deny that it was good. For the first time in

a long, long time, something felt right and I wasn't going to let it slip from my hands again.

Edward kissed the top of my head and slowly untangled his arms from around me.

“I think I should go,” he said softly, his eyes searching mine. “I don't want to, but I have some

work to do before I come back here for the dinner service,” he explained with a small, apologetic

smile. I nodded and got up off his lap.

“Esme...your mom texted me earlier, saying that the work at the apartment is coming along

nicely, so I'm going to check it out.” I bit my lip and wrung my hands, not sure how to handle

this new situation. “I guess, um, I'll see you tonight?” Edward stood with a smile, taking my

hands in his.

“I would like that very much. Maybe not here, though, with all my colleagues around...” His

voice trailed off and he raked a hand through his hair – he was nervous, too, and it made me feel

a bit better.

I don't like this.... it's probably because I'm still not happy with Bella. They seem to be rushing into the physical again, while they still have some stuff to talk about.

“Edward.” A soft whisper permeated my consciousness. I must be still dreaming, because that sounded like Bella.

“Eeedward. Wake up, baby,” she whispered again. I felt a cool hand on my cheek and opened one eye a tiny crack – it wasn't a dream. All of last night had been real, and Bella was right there, waking me up with the sweetest smile.

“Hey,” I croaked and rubbed my eyes. Bella sat on the bed on her knees, hanging over me. She was dressed and her hair was damp.

“Hey sleepyhead. I ordered breakfast.” She moved to get off of the bed, but I grabbed her wrist and pulled her to me, on top of me. She giggled and looked down.

“It started to get late, and I didn't know if you had any plans today. So I decided to wake you up, even though you were sleeping so sweetly,” she said softly, her finger trailing my stubby jaw. I pulled her closer so I could kiss her sweet lips, where the taste of toothpaste lingered. She peppered my mouth, cheeks, and nose with tiny little kisses.

“Bella,” I said when she was kissing down my throat. She hummed a response, nibbling my Adam's apple. “I think we should talk.” She sighed and her face came back up. She looked at me with insecurity shining through her expressive brown eyes, and nodded.

"I know only part of what happened between you and Edward, and in my mind, you were this ugly, cruel monster who broke my son's heart." I swallowed and looked away. "Now that I've met you, I can see that you're anything but that. I like you, Bella, and I know that Edward is still completely crazy about you. I was hoping you still felt something, too. I thought if I could get you both in the same room..." She trailed off, shyly looking at her hands on the table.

"He's crazy about me? Did he say that?" It might have been the only thing I'd heard.

"No. He refuses to speak about it. Can't fool his mother, though," she said with a hint of a smile.

"You're playing match maker... for your son?" I stammered in a half whisper. Esme chuckled.

"I guess you could call it that. I've seen him suffer, Bella. He has suffered a lot over the last year. I can't judge you; I don't know what your motives were, but you reacted to me in such a way that I couldn't let go of the idea that there's still...something."

As the last part of the 8th Sonata progressed, I felt a nervous flutter in my stomach. My eyes were drawn to Esme and her companion again. They were hidden partly by a large flower arrangement that decorated the bar, but it looked like Esme's client was female. A dark-haired up-do and pale skin were all I could see, but my stomach wasn't to be ignored. I forced my eyes back to the ivories and played the final minutes in a complete haze.

I guessed I didn't screw up, because people clapped and even cheered when I was done. I stood up and bowed shortly, leaving the stage for another quick break.

As I walked back to the bar, the restaurant manager came to me with a glass of ice water and patted my shoulder, complimenting me profusely.

I couldn't concentrate on him. I stared at my mother and the woman that was with her; it was her. My stomach had been right, proving to me once more what a connection I had to Bella. My body had responded to her even before my mind knew she was here. But she was, sitting right there, having a drink with my mother.

My heart was beating so loud, it was the only thing I could hear. I smiled at the audience as they applauded when I came back on stage without really seeing anyone. I glanced at Esme's spot at the bar and saw them getting up off their stools. Esme turned around and met my gaze. I turned my head and placed my hands on the piano.

I didn't play what I had planned. I didn't play the piece I had been practicing day and night. I played Bella's song instead.

I'm glad you moved the story to a year later.  I'd like to see what Edward's been up to this last year.

Will Esme get the urge to play matchmeker for her son & Bella, or will it not occur to her because of Bella's age?

EPOV

As the last part of the 8th Sonata progressed, I felt a nervous flutter in my stomach. My eyes were drawn to Esme and her companion again. They were hidden partly by a large flower arrangement that decorated the bar, but it looked like Esme's client was female. A dark-haired up-do and pale skin were all I could see, but my stomach wasn't to be ignored. I forced my eyes back to the ivories and played the final minutes in a complete haze.
