'"Collin's the one dating my daughter, right?"(...)        "I wonder why she didn't just tell she was seeing someone." Edward scratched his head as if truly perplexed.'        Hah!!  He's unbelievable.  Well, to his credit he didn't automatically scrunch his nose to the notion of his daughter dating one of the Wolves.        :)

"Remember when Red was in high school and that guy she was crushing on only dated her because he wanted free tutoring lessons?"(...)        "She learned an important lesson. Be careful, because there are assholes out there and sometimes you have to use your head and your heart to weed them out."        Edward looked thoughtfully at Leah. "I've never thought of things that way."        "That's why I'm here." Leah smiled. "To put things in perspective."        Did I already mention how I like that Leah, of all people, became friends with the Cullens?  With Edward, at least.  And I'm glad they're back; I missed them.

'Edward's head tilted to the side as he eyed Matt. "How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?"        "I do, actually."        Edward suddenly blurted out, "You're 67?!"'        Heheheh!  Surprise, surprise.        X-)

'The trees parted for a huge creature. No, huge wasn't right. Massive, gigantic, and enormous worked better. It was walking on all fours as it moved next to Matt where it stood up on its hind legs. Its fur was like liquid obsidian, sliding over his muscle and bone, with hands larger than catcher's mitts. Each digit had a talon that curled menacingly.'        I'm trying to visualize it.  Man, must be a hell of a scary sight.

"Maybe they're trying to make stronger wolves.(...) Just imagine a werewolf that can change in a moment's time, anytime they want that's not dependent on the moon for strength."        "You think they might be trying to cross the species?"        Those brutes without any hindrance...  Catastrophic.        *shiver*

"I owe you an apology. Sometimes my mind reading ability becomes insensitive to others."        "I appreciate it," Matt answered. He sighed heavily and his voice went low. "Jacob says you're reliable allies and truthfully, any help is appreciated. We just don't want anyone else to get hurt."        Matt seems to be coming around already.  Good.        :)

'"Hey, Edward," Jacob said. "You got a minute?"        "Yeah." Edward looked carefully at Jacob. They walked over to the side and began a deep conversation.'        And what, I ask myself, could Jake want with him?        :-/

'Pain would blossom in his heart whenever another man had gotten too close and only went away when he was convinced she was still his. But this new Alpha was making that pain return. This new Alpha was threatening to quench that fire that burned for Leah, and Sam wasn't quite ready to let her go yet.'        Hmmm...  Love or male pride?  Time will tell, I suppose.

Good chapter, Shae.  Hmm, is Eden returning anytime soon?  She has been a little absent, with the exception of the short scene with the were stalker.

Author's Response:

Hah!!  He's unbelievable.  Well, to his credit he didn't automatically scrunch his nose to the notion of his daughter dating one of the Wolves. If you like to venture away from canon like I do, I imagine Edward would be very protective of whomever Renesmee decides to date.

Leah and Edward do have a weird relationship. She's not afraid to tell him he's wrong, and I think he learns from her that way. It was a little annoying to me when Edward would purposely tell others what someone was thinking, obviously not caring about whether or not they wanted it revealed or not. Edward put Matt in a bad situation and that's why he reacted the way he did. I wanted to make things even, which is why you'll notice that Jacob was upset about the age thing too, and that Matt was upset about Jacob not saying anything about Edward's mind reading abilities. It can't all be sunshine and roses. They have to work together and there will be bumps in the road along the way.

Oh, and you'll see what Jacob wants with Edward soon enough. :)

Yes, Eden will be coming back in the next chapter. I had to get all of the werewolf stuff out first.

Thanks again for reading!

So Sam still has feelings for Leah.  This can't end well.  Please don't let Sam or his family get killed or changed.

Thanks - Xanath

Author's Response:

Yep, Sam has some unresolved issues that he's not sure how to deal with.

Thanks for reading!

'Leah was still getting the nightmares and learned that a few of the other pack members were experiencing them too.(...)  She didn't remember a lot, but she saw large beasts circling her like she was a prey and they were debating whether to eat her not.'        I keep wondering what do they want with Tommy, since they didn't kill him.  They can't "recruit" him.  So, what, torture for information?  Ugh...        X-(

'In that moment, her mother's words echoed in her ears.  Emily was really trying to get past everything and start over.  They could never get back the closeness they shared before, but maybe they could be friends again.'        Cool.        ^_^

  "I met Matt, by the way.  Nice guy and I can tell he really likes you."        "Yeah?  How?"        "Because as soon as he realized that I was your brother, he was extra nice.  He even let me have the last soda.  Guys that like you are always kind to me."        *chuckles*        X-}

"I am seeing someone, but it's new and I still don't know how I feel yet."        I wonder what Leah will think of Seth's new affair.  Will it be a shock?  Did she already guess about Seth's tastes?  I'm curious.

I didn't read Patricia Brigg's work yet, but, in any case, your reworking of the Children of the Moon's traits was very coherent, Shae.  Good job.        ;)

"Well, one of our pack members is a werewolf."  Matt cautiously looked over at Leah and then at the rest of the crowd as silence fell over them.  "Just like you have a hybrid as an ally, we have a Child of the Moon that is ours."        A good werewolf...  Can't wait to know him.        P-)

'There was uneasiness in the air around Matt's pack.  It was to be expected, though.  The Cullens weren't the average vampire coven, but they had to see for themselves.  Leah could tell by the way they all moved that it might take a little convincing.'        Can't wait to see this meeting, either.        :-P

'Eden Sloan was supposed to talk to him like that, not this Jake guy.(...)        The moon hovered in the sky, shining its light over his skin.  It coaxed at him, but he fought it.  There was only one female that ruled his heart.'        Uh-oh!  It seems that Jake should tell Eden about his world as soon as possible.  Like, yesterday.

Lots of good stuff coming, eh, Shae?  Just bring it on!        :)

Author's Response:

Thanks, Costa!

In my opinion, Leah and Emily's relationship can never be repaired to what it was, but maybe they can move forward.  Even though some things were out of their control, others weren't.  These are the consequences.  And not to give too much away, but there's a reason this happened.  It may not be what SM had in mind, but there is a reason.

I really wanted to show how close Seth and Leah are, especially now.  I'd written that scene a few times, once with Jake, the other with Rachel, but I liked the way it played out with Seth the best.  Plus, it showed that Leah senses something is different about her brother, but she's waiting for him to tell her.

I'm glad the explanation of the werewolves came across okay.  The Mercy Thompson series is one of my favorites, and I couldn't do what I wanted to do with SM's explantion of werewolves.

Holy Crap Edwn has a werewolf infactuated with her!?!?

I love all the couples.  Matt/Leah, Jake/Eden and Ness/Collin.  I hope they all have a big part in the story.  I can't wait for more!  Take care, Dixie

Author's Response:

Yep!  One thing Jacob wanted was for Eden to not be involved with this, but she already is and doesn't even know it.

I'm glad you like my pairings.  I'm having fun writing about them.  :)

Thanks for reading!

I really ike where this story is going and am happy you updated.  I understand writing can be hard but so can waiting for mor about Leah.  Thanks - Xanath

Author's Response:

I was concerned it would be confusing, especially when Matt's pack started talking about werewolves, but it seems like it came together okay.  :)

Thanks for reading!

  'First things first, she needed to get Collin and Aaron home.(...)  And what the hell attacked them?  Matt had already said that vampires weren't responsible for the attack.  But what was?  What else did they have to worry about? Zombies? Witches? Rabid fairies?'        *chuckles*        Rabid fairies...        X-}

"I don't mean to get in your business but..." Sam trailed off.         "But what?"        "It's just that, he's a little...I don't know...arrogant."        Wow, if I ever saw a clearer case of pot-kettle.        :-P

"Why do your eyes do that?"        "Do what?"        "They just turned green."(...)        "Like humans, wolves have different color eyes: blue, green, or the most stunning shade of brown I've ever seen."        Interesting.

"So he is married. I saw the wedding ring, but the way he acted at Jacob's shop, I thought-"        "You thought what?"        "I don't know.  He just seems a little overprotective of you. I thought maybe you and him..."        "Nope, I wasn't the chosen one."        "The chosen one?"        Hmmm, looks like Matt's pack can learn a thing or two from Leah's.        :)

'"My leg and all of my fingers are broken, but other than that I'm fine.  Is Ness alright?"        "Yeah, but worried about you."  Leah lightly patted his shoulder.        "She's fine now even though this guy tried to kill her." Sam gestured to Matt.'        Geez...

Not bad for a first contact between the Packs.  Of course, it could have been better without Sam's needling.  If I didn't knew he's imprinted to Emily, I would think he is jealous of Leah.

Don't be a stranger, Shae.  There's a lot of events I can't wait to see how they will unfold in this tale.        :)

Author's Response:

Hey Costa,

Sam, Sam, Sam.  He definitely has some issues to deal with.  And yeah, Matt's pack will learn some things from Jake's pack and vice versa.  There will be a few surprises in store.  Hopefully, I can get the next chapter finished in the next couple of weeks, but I might be a little distracted with the Holidays.

Reviewer: dkgors (Signed) · Date: December 06, 2012 08:45 PM · On: Chapter 7-Part Two

Well my first thought is Matt needs to seriously kick Sam's ASS!   I love the spark between Matt and Leah!  Collin and Ness are way to sweet.  I can't wait for the 2 packs to meet.  I think Jake will like Matt.  I hope Tommy is ok.

Dixie

Author's Response:

Sam's just got some issues that he has to deal with and that's why he's being a dick.  And Matt and Leah, I have so much planned for them!  The same goes for Collin and Ness, and I didn't forget about Jake and Eden.

Working on Chapter 8.

What is up with Sam acting all jealous.....like Leah is with him when he's married to her cousin Emily?.....Too much.....:-)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reading!  Yeah, Sam has his own issues to work out especially when he's showing his dominance and Matt isn't affected by it at all.

I was hoing that you would update the story soon as I really love it and can't wait for more.  I like Leah stories and feel like this one is going in a good direction.

Thanks - Xanath

I love writing about Leah.  There's so much potential for her and I really want her to have a happy ending, even if she's fighting it the whole way.  LOL!

Hey, Shae!  Like the new banner.

'The sleep she did get was filled with dreams of large monsters unlike anything she'd ever seen.  Their glowing yellowish-green eyes lingered in her mind all day.'        Heh!  Did Leah take classes with Alice?  Hmm...  Probably the boys' distress was so great that the images leaked through the pack mind, even with her in human form.  Just a guess.

"I just...it's just... There are things you don't know about me."        "Like what?  The fact that you can shape shift into a wolf?"  He raised a taunting eyebrow, daring her to deny it.(...)        "I'm Matt Robson, Alpha wolf of the pack residing in Port Angeles.  It's nice to meet you."        And Matt is back with a bang!  Heheh, I have to admit, it crossed my mind he could be a Child of the Moon.  I was just rooting for him not to be as bestial as the others.  And what was it he said about Leah being an Alpha female?  Is it because she's second in command?

'Matt's body went rigid as he sniffed the air.  He whipped around, crouching low and darted toward Renesmee.  Renesmee froze, suddenly aware of the danger she was in.  She only had time to drop her bags and brace for the impact.'        *gulp*  I was wondering what would his reaction to Nessie be.  Geez, that was close!        :-o

'"What do you mean three?" Matt interrupted.  "We only found two, Collin and Aaron."        A deep shadow of dread fell, as they all exchanged looks.  Tommy was still out there, probably injured.'        Damn!  I bet the weres took him.  I just don't imagine what for.

  Nice chapter, Shae.  Just keep bringing them on.  Heh!  If Matt's reaction to Nessie was that, I wonder what will happen if he meets the other Cullens.  Oh, and don't let Sam overrule Leah.  Make her put him in his place if needed.        X-}

Author's Response:

"Probably the boys' distress was so great that the images leaked through the pack mind, even with her in human form."      Yep, Leah was sensing what happened to them.  It's also the reason Jacob couldn't sleep.

Matt's back!  I missed him, too.  I know some people thought he was a werewolf, especially with those green eyes (He'll explain that in Part Two).  Leah's Alpha female status has nothing to do with her being beta.  She's that regardless of where she's at in the pack hierachy.  The great thing about Matt is that he may have answers that no one was able to give her before.

Matt is a shifter and a protector.  He smelled vampire and reacted.  Luckily, Leah was there to step in or there would have been a war in Jacob's lobby.

As far as Sam goes, there is more drama to come.  Did you think that he would welcome Matt with open arms? :)

Thanks for reading!

Yes!  I knew Matt was a wolf!  This story is getting so interesting!  I'm glad Collin and Aaron are ok, I wonder whats happened to Tommy?  I can't believe Matt was going to attack ness!  Couldn't he hear her heart beating?  Thank God Leah was there!  WTF Sam? I can't believe he still thinks he has a say in what Leah is doing or who she is seeing!

This story is just getting better and better!  Please update soon!

Dixie

Author's Response:

Yep, Matt is a wolf.  I know some people thought he was a werewolf.  And yes, he went after Ness.  He smelled a vampire and his instincts kicked in.  The average vampire won't give anyone a chance to react or second guess and he's a protector.  He might have heard her heartbeat, but he smelled vampire first.  You'll see that Matt is more understanding of this situation than he appears.

And Sam.  What can I say?  I love Emily/Sam/Leah tension.  There's more to come.

Thanks for reading!

'Since Billy had asked her to be on the council, she'd been privy to all the secrets of the pack.(...)  Paul, who had always had a thing for Rachel, had volunteered to be her official Pack ambassador and show her how things worked.  Eventually, their relationship blossomed beyond friendship.'        Ah, so this is why she knows.  And even without the imprint, she's with Paul.  Nice touch, Shae.  Really.        :)

"Maybe he'll understand that, too.  Angela's love for Embry helped her understand. Rachel is okay with Paul turning into a wolf.  Besides, this is not your whole life, honey.  Maybe you could stop phasing."        And, if Matt is what I think he is, maybe not.        P-)

'He'd opened the door and found his roommate entwined with another man on the couch.  Both of them were shirtless and things would have probably progressed further had Collin not walked in on them.(...)        Collin assured Seth that he didn't care who he dated, but he did tell Seth that he needed to tell Jake so he could lift the alpha command.'        Seth and...  Oh, ok, then.  But refresh my memory.  Alpha command?  As far as I know, Jake isn't very fond of it.

'Connie Littlesea knew something wasn't right and knew that her brother, Billy Black, held the secrets.  So she confronted him and after he'd been evasive for as long as possible, he finally came clean.  After her initial shock, she demanded to be a part of the council to make sure that her son didn't have to fight unless he absolutely needed to.  She'd been keeping an overprotective eye on him since.'        Gee, Shae, that was mean.

"Who's patrolling with me tonight?"        "Er...Aaron and Tommy."         "What!"        And that was mean, too.  What did Collin do?  Chewed your shoes?        :-P

'As they broke into the clearing, two large beasts surrounded an injured man.  Collin took a closer look.  They had large heads that looked like wolves; wolves who stood on their hind legs.  Their paws looked more like hands, with talons instead of fingernails.  Suddenly, Collin felt small.        Children of the moon!'         Hehehe!!  Bullseye!  Now, I just hope Matt isn't with them.  If he really is one.        :-3

'Collin roared again when the beast bit him in the throat.(...)  His vision blurred at the pain coursing through his body.  There were bones broken and he wasn't healing.'        Not healing?  As if he received venom?  Man, the way he's hurt...  Very bad!        :-o

A heck of a cliffie, Shae.  Don't leave us hanging for long.  Pretty please?        :)

Author's Response:

Ah, so this is why she knows.  And even without the imprint, she's with Paul.  Nice touch, Shae.  Really.        :)    Yep.  When I took the imprinting element out, I still wanted Rachel and Paul to be together.  Then I figured, why couldn't they find each other on their own?  It creates conflict and Jacob doesn't have to automatically accept it because of the imprint.  Now he can voice his opinion.  Besides, I kinda like these two together.

And, if Matt is what I think he is, maybe not.        P-) You'll find out what's going on with Matt next chapter.  I promise.

Seth and...  Oh, ok, then.  But refresh my memory.  Alpha command?  As far as I know, Jake isn't very fond of it.    Yeah, I was trying something different.  I have no idea how to write slash, so what you read will probably be the closest I'll get to lemon between these two, but you'll meet Roe.  And you're right, Jacob doesn't like to use the alpha command, but there's only one thing that he forces his wolves to do.  Keep the pack secret, except from the imprints.  Since there's only two, they have to be careful who they share their secret with, and Jacob can say no if he has a bad feeling about things.

Wth Collin, I just wanted to show why his parents, his mother especially, hates all vampires.  She's scared for her son, her only son.  And as far as Collin patrolling with Aaron and Tommy, he just didn't want to hear how much they hate the Cullens.  Especially since he's dating Renesmee.

And yes, Collin is really hurt.  More answers next chapter, and I will get this out sooner than later.

Thanks again for reading!

WTF?!?!?  Who the hell is Niko? What is he and what happened to Arron and Tommy? Gah!  I love/hate cliffy's!!!!

Where was everyone else?  Couldn't the pack hear the howling?   You do know that by making Seth gay you broke all the female reader's hearts right? lol  Roe is a lucky man!

I hope Leah talks to Matt....

Take care, and update soon!  Dixie

Author's Response:

WTF?!?!? Who the hell is Niko? What is he and what happened to Arron and Tommy? Gah! I love/hate cliffy's!!!!  Sorry about that.  I had to cut it somewhere.  More explanations to come!

Making Seth gay was a last minute decision.  I wanted to try something different and add a little conflict.  I kept going back and forth with it, wondering if I could pull it off.  But there was only one way to know;I had to try it.  We'll see how that works.

'When she was in elementary school, there was a story about a monster lurking in the pond next to campus that would jump out and kill you if you didn't cross your fingers and walk backward as you passed by.  Years later, she found out that the ‘monster' was really a faulty fountain.'        Hehehe!!  There will be no "faulty fountain"  this time.        X-)

Just out of curiosity: does Rachel know?  Since Paul didn't imprint on her, I mean.  I'm only asking because, in the books, they were careful to keep the secret even from their families, as long they were not directly involved.

"Cherokee.  My grandfather was half African American and half Cherokee.  He used to tell us stories when we were little."(...)  "Stories about men turning into eagles to fight off evil spirits with red eyes."        Eagle-shifters?  Cool!  Any chance she is of the bloodline?  And just wait till she sees the good spirits with golden eyes.        ;)

'Renesmee said hello as they passed by and promptly set her marshmallow on fire.  Her eyes grew big as the flame began to consume the stick.(...)  "The cooking gene apparently skipped over her.(...)  You have no idea how many fires we've had to put out.  She can scramble eggs, but that's about it."'        *snickers*

"Eden, this is Seth Clearwater.  He's Sue's son and Leah's little brother.  He also teaches history at Forks High and he coaches the varsity track team."        A teacher?  Hmm, don't know if I would ever seen him in such a job.  But, being Seth, his students must love him.        :)

"I'm Angela and this is Embry."(...)  "This is the happy couple that just got engaged."(...)  Angela and Embry exchanged glances, communicating silently while Eden and Jacob looked on.  Angela nodded and Embry spoke, "We're going to have a baby."        Ah, so it was about those two Jacob was talking last chapter.  And soon to be three!  Sweet!        ^_^

"Alice is taking care of the wedding planning and has guaranteed that it is more than enough time for her."        Alice!  Of course she would be in charge of something like that.  I bet that, when Angela learned all the truth, she loved to include her in her circle of friends.        ;)

Things between Jake and Eden are almost as good as if he had imprinted on her.  Thumbs up!        ^_^

'"We can't leave him."  But before she could open the door, the ranger let out a painful cry and then it suddenly stopped.(...)  A huge, dark figure stepped into the clearing, but due to poor lighting, she couldn't make out what it was.  Just that it was huge, as large as bear and it had bright yellow eyes and sharp teeth.'        Oh, man, not again!  Didn't that ranger ever saw a terror movie?  When you notice something creepy in the dark, you go in the opposite direction, never towards it.        :-P

At least Holly and Natalie escaped.  And it was a full moon night.  Interesting...        ;)

Author's Response:

Just out of curiosity: does Rachel know?  Since Paul didn't imprint on her, I mean.  I'm only asking because, in the books, they were careful to keep the secret even from their families, as long they were not directly involved.

Whoops!  When I edited the last few chapters, I cut that part out.  Yes, Rachel knows everything.  I'll add the reasons why in the next chapter.  Sorry about that.

Eagle-shifters?  Cool!  Any chance she is of the bloodline?  And just wait till she sees the good spirits with golden eyes.  Eden is in for a few surprises, especially when she meets the Cullens.

A teacher?  Hmm, don't know if I would ever seen him in such a job.  But, being Seth, his students must love him.        :)  Seth seems like a people person and I thought he be great at teaching because he's so patient and great working with different personalities.

Alice!  Of course she would be in charge of something like that.  I bet that, when Angela learned all the truth, she loved to include her in her circle of friends.        ;)  Yes, once the initial shock wore off, she was thankful.

Things between Jake and Eden are almost as good as if he had imprinted on her.  Thumbs up!        ^_^  Yeah, Jake and Eden are getting closer and closer.  Now, he just has to pray she's not afraid of his wolf, because he likes her too! :)

"Before the Cullens moved to town, we all had plans.(...)  Then the wolf gene was activated.  Any plans that we had were put on hold until the threat was gone and life moved on without us.  If I had to take a guess, that's probably what's bothering Aaron.  Life moved on without him and he blames your family."        So, he is basically a male Leah.        ;)

'"I guess a lot of things would have been different.  You'd probably still be with Sam and have a family of your own, right?"        "Maybe.  But you wouldn't be here, either.  That alone makes it all worth it."(...)  Aside from Seth and her mother, Leah couldn't think of anyone else that was more important and imagining a life without Renesmee was impossible.'        Awwww...  Leah became such a softie.        :-P

"Here's my first question.  How did you keep it from the pack?"        Leah laughed lightly then said, "I sing."        Aaahhh, so this is her secret.  But patrolling with her must be a true music festival, then.  You know, the way she is head over heels for Matt...        ;)

'Edward and Leah had a weird relationship.  Ever since Leah saved his daughter years ago, he'd had a large amount of respect for her.  She found that she could talk to him about certain things, especially when it came to dating.'        Cool!  I was wondering anyway how Leah's relationship with the Cullens evolved so far.  After all, being BFF with the family's only offspring...  I imagine that, even with the rest, beyond Bella and Edward, she, at the very least, don't hate them anymore.

"There has been another mauling near Olympia.  Early this morning, a man was discovered in the wood, his body brutally mauled.  This has been the third attack in the last month.  Officials have warned campers to steer clear of the woods until further notice."        I wonder if it was Bruce they found.

"Baby, of course he'll like you.  He just wants to meet you.  He's the chief, but he's still Billy Black.  The same man who tries to sneak a piece of chocolate cake even though he knows he's not supposed to have it."        Hahahahah!!  Bad Billy.

      '"I was patrolling near the Forks border, and I thought I saw another wolf."(...)        He hoped it was just a normal wolf that had been eating his Wheaties, but his gut was telling him otherwise.  Something was stirring in the air and things were about to change.'        My theories?  Well, I think there isn't enough Wheaties in the world to make a regular wolf horse-sized like they are.  I'm betting this is a full moon night, and I'm wondering if it isn't a certain peach cobbler maker that usually turns Leah's knees into jelly.        X-}

Aaahhh, so this is her secret.  But patrolling with her must be a true music festival, then.  You know, the way she is head over heels for Matt...        ;)  When I wrote this, I had a vision of them all singing together.  Can you imagine the wolves singing together in harmony?  LOL!  Because there's no real threat, they can do this.  Of course when things progress they'll need their full concentration on patrolling.

Awwww...  Leah became such a softie.  Yes, she is.  The one thing about Renesmee is that she's never pitied Leah, and you know how much it annoys Leah when people pity her.  You're right.  Leah doesn't hate the Cullens anymore.  She'd have to at least tolerate them if she was going to take Renesmee back and forth to La Push.

As far as who Seth saw in the woods, the answers will be revealed soon.

Thanks again for reading!

Is the wolf Matt?  That might explane why his eye's changed color.  I have to say I'm happy for Jake with Eden (can we get more J/E time?)  But I hate the fact that he will quite phasing and grow old and die....is there any way to make Eden imortal but not a vampire? lol

I really liked the chapter and I can't wait for more!  Take care, Dixie

Author's Response:

Is the wolf Matt?  Hmm...

I'm glad you like Jake with Eden.  It's always hard putting one of SM's characters with an original character.  Most fans see Jacob with Renesmee, Leah, or Bella, but I thought I would try something different.

Unfortunately, no.  Eden's just a normal human being who ages just like the rest of us.

Thanks again for reading!

Interesting story looking forward to reading more!!!!

Author's Response:

Hey there,

Thanks so much for reading.  I should have an update soon!

'It never made sense to me that Renesmee’s body temperature was so high since her father is a vampire and her mother was a human when she was born.  Therefore, I’ve made her temperature 98 degrees.'        Genetics isn't an exact science, especially with the supernatural factor.  But you're the boss, boss.        ;)

'Leah took a bite of her peach cobbler and turned the page on her Kindle Fire.  Most people wouldn't guess, but Leah loved reading a good romance novel.'        Awww!  The tough girl have a soft heart.        :-P

'After that disaster with Sam, she'd promised that she wouldn't let another man give her a nickname, but whenever Matt called her Peaches, she felt butterflies flutter in her belly.'        Ohoho!        ^_^

'"Okay, Red," Leah conceded.  "It's cold outside so take a jacket."'        I know you tweaked her a bit, but does it mean Nessie feels cold?  You know, with the vampire immunity and all...

'No one knew about him, not even Renesmee.'        How does she hide her feelings from the Pack Mind?

"Do you have a choice?  What I mean is do you have to drink blood?"        "To satisfy the vampire side of me, yes.  To satisfy the human side of me, I eat solid food."        Can't even say if you're being AU here.  In BD, Nahuel gave the impression he could chose, but it's not like he ever abstained from blood, right?

'She felt Collin stiffen as they turned around.  Aaron Masters stood in the lead flanked by two other members of the pack(...)        "I wonder what your parents would say if they knew that you were here with her."'        Oh, great!  All they needed was a bully.  But his words reminded me:  do Collin's parents know?  And I hope to hear why he hates Nessie later, as Collin promised.

'When she looked at him, a beautiful green that reminded her of stained glass saturated his irises, completely drowning out the gold and brown.  It was strange and would normally sound off her internal alarms, but she wasn't afraid.  She couldn't explain why, either.(...)        He leaned in again, lightly sucking on her lips.  His mouth so was warm, warmer than it should be.'        After last chapter's end, all I can say is:  uh-oh!!!

Nessie and Collin's date was sweet, notwithstanding Aaron's obnoxiousness.  But it looks like you are either preparing a new romance or a new kick in the stomach for Leah, Shae.  Or could it be both at once?        P-)

Author's Response:

Hey Costa,

As always, thanks for reading.

"I know you tweaked her a bit, but does it mean Nessie feels cold?  You know, with the vampire immunity and all..."  Yes.  My Ness still has some human qualities.  She doesn’t get cold or hot easily, but she does feel the temperature change.  Besides, isn’t it cute seeing them cuddle?

"How does she hide her feelings from the Pack Mind?"  Hmm...that's a good question.  I guess someone should ask Leah how she does that, huh? :)

"Can't even say if you're being AU here.  In BD, Nahuel gave the impression he could chose, but it's not like he ever abstained from blood, right?" Honestly, Breaking Dawn was not my favorite book, and I only read it once.  So I may not have all the details correct.  Ness doesn’t know how long she can go without blood, but she doesn’t want to break the treaty, so she’s never tested the theory.  Remember in Twilight when Carlisle said he tried to starve himself, but couldn’t?  I figure the same would go for Ness’s vampire side.

"...do Collin's parents know?  And I hope to hear why he hates Nessie later, as Collin promised." In time, all will be revealed.

I like writing about Collin and Ness more than I thought I would.  They're so cute.  As far as Leah goes, let's just say there is a reason Matt is in town, and it's not just to help his aunt.

More coming soon!

I just read all four chapters that you've posted so far and I have to say that I love this story! I almost never read wolf-centered fics, but this is the best I've read yet.

The entire premise behind how Red ended up still in Forks and La Push is perfect and I love how you incorporated Leah (my favorite wolf) into the story. I even like Jacob in this!

I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response:

*blushing*  You're so sweet!  You made my day.  There are some really great wolf pack writers out there, so if you ever decide you're curious, let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.

Leah is one of my favorite characters, and she had so much potential that we didn't see.  I love reading stories about her, and I love writing about her.  And Renesmee, I just think she's adorable.  Now, I know SM wanted her with Jacob, but I couldn't do it.  I wanted her to have a choice too, and she chooses Collin.

What can I say about Jake.  He's my all-time fav.  I know he's immature in the series, but this is how I see him when he finally grows up.  He's more responsible and thinks a little bit before he acts.  Not to mention, he's better at controlling his temper.  I'm glad you like him.

Thanks so much for reading!

my favorite chapter so far (because i'm way more interested in leah's story and it was a big part of what you focused on here).

really really really liked matt. and it'll be even better if those strage details mean he has something supernatural about him too. call me crazy, but i prefer when a couple is equilibrated. human and magical being together sometimes give me the impression of an unbalanced couple; but it depends, of course, on the way the writer portray it, so i'm just waiting for the next chapters.

great job :)

Author's Response:

Thanks for checking out my little fic.  Yeah, Leah didn't get a fair shot in the series, so I thought I'd take a shot at telling what could have been.

I like Matt, too.  I can't wait to get into his head.  I'll say this much, he likes Leah...a lot.

Thanks again!

Uh...WOW. The date was great, full of nice tension and teasing.

But the last part? I am so curious! He thinks he saw tall beasts, yet there was a man there too. What is that about?? Such delicious intrigue!!

Eden sounds beautiful! And exactly what Jake needs.

It sounds like he didn't imprint on Renesmee in this fic. I think that's a great choice because it frees both of them to make their own choices about love. Much more fun that way :-)

Author's Response:

I wanted to make Eden very exotic.  I also didn't want any comparisons to Bella so I wanted her look to as different as possible.

"It sounds like he didn't imprint on Renesmee in this fic. I think that's a great choice because it frees both of them to make their own choices about love. Much more fun that way :-)"

Exactly!  I like that they both have a choice now.  It wasn't just about giving Jake's his choices back, but about giving Ness a choice too.   Also, imprinting seems to take the conflict out of finding true love.  Once it happens, they're in love and happy and everyone's okay with it.  I just wanted to see if someone could fall for one of the wolves because they loved them, not because they have the best chance of making the strongest pack.

Thanks so much for reading!

This was great!! I love the Pack and think there's so much room to tell some great stories about them after the events of BD. Awesome start, and I can't wait for the rest :-)
