I really liked the uniqueness of the story, and I think you wrote the characters very well. However, I hate cliffies when they're in the middle of a fic and so at the end they practically intolerable!! LOL
great job tho :)
Author's Response: It's always a thrill to get a review from something that has been out there a while, so thank you so much for taking the time to write something.
I do understand about the cliffie, though. I'm with you on that - although it does make the story compelling and something you have to return to again and again! As a writer, if it gets people reading the next chapter, it has to be a good thing.
I did wonder about writing a sequel, but apart from the aquisition of Bella, I couldn't think of much else to say. Someone did suggest writing a one shot, which was quite a good idea. Unfortunately, I have changed jobs and don't have much time for writing. I am in the middle of a story at the moment, which is taking me forever. (I refuse to post them until they are almost complete.) After that, I may try and work on some original stuff and see how far I get in the "real" world of publishing. Who knows?

I'm with your beta. I don't see any reason to leave your story on a cliffhanger if you have no intention of writing a follow up. It's kind of mean, actually.
I think I would have liked this better had the victims been more of a power source to revive the individual vampires' own emotions. Something just feels unsettling and wrong about Bella choosing what emotion to feed to the others. What is really the point of having feelings if they are so artificial?
Author's Response: Thanks for your feedback. I did try with the ending, but this one just kept coming back to me and I decided to go with it for better or worse. Most reviewers liked it, so I can't regret my decision.
As for feelings, the reason the vampires feed at all is that they can't bear the emptiness of not having emotions. Something is better than nothing. Bella's gift makes the whole thing natural and takes into account all the nuances of interaction with others.
I do understand what you are saying, though, and I value your thoughts. I appreciate you taking the time to write.

So is Bella like Jasper now, considering that she's manipulating the emotional state they're all in? And how does this work for Jasper? His gift is feeling and manipulating one's emotions but since they don't/can't produce their own emotions, how can he fit the bill...? As always, I encourage you to keep moving forward with all of your endeavors.
-Kristin
Author's Response: I suppose in some ways she is, although he works with things that are already present and, in this story, that only works on humans. Bella can create them for the vampires who don't have any. I bet Aro would love to have her at his beck and call!
Thanks for the review.

First off, I'm enjoying this fic so far and happy that you're sharing it with us readers. I do have a question though, and it can probably be answered in the later chapters but I've got to voice it. Is Bella able to 'share' her emotions? Like, if she's excited and wants to share that with Alice or Esme, would it be concurrent with her or would it just deplete her's? Thats just floating around in my brain... As always, I encourage you to keep moving forward in your future endeavors.
-Kristin
Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to let me know how you feel about this story. It's always lovely to get a review from one that you have finished.
I won't answer your question, because, as you say, it does reveal itself within the story. Suffice to say, that your floating brain has brought up an interesting question! I'd love to know what you think when you finish it. I hope you enjoy the rest of it.

love your style! can't wait for "VQ"
Author's Response: It's always a really lovely surprise to get a review from something that has been completed for a while. Thank you for taking the time to review. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
I have eight chapters of the Vampyre Queen written in full and another five in rough so far. I keep hitting some dead ends in history and have to do some research to find an appropriate backdrop for the story. I'm currently looking for something around 1820 that will preferably get my little gang out of the US for a few years, but I'm not sure what yet! I might have to have them return to England for a while.
I look forward to seeing your name when I start posting.

very interesting tale, I do want a sequel.....
Author's Response: Thank you! This was the first story I started when I discovered fan fiction, and it's the last one to be finished!! At the moment, I'm vaguely concentrating on "The Vampyre Queen". I say vaguely, because I have had two weeks of celebrations on top of starting a new job and I have hit a bit of a wall when it comes to the writing. I hope you'll give it a go when I start posting it.
Thanks for taking the time to review!

Fabulous story, thank you. How evil not telling us what happens; if I had any imagination, I'd be writing rather than only ever reading!
How brave you are to publically acknowledge turning 50; I'm in denial and pretend that I'm 40-something (even if I know the 'something' is greater than 10).
Author's Response: I have to say, I was utterly depressed at 30 - no longer twenty something it felt like my life was over. At 40, I had a party and felt that I could put all the mistakes and disappointments of my 30's behind me. Now, I feel quite free and am looking forward to the next decade. It's especially gratifying when people tell me I don't look anywhere near 50!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. I hope you will give my next one a read when I start posting. :) Someone has suggested that I at least write a one-shot of the confrontation, which I might do at some point, but we'll see.

I love this story, thank you. It's great hos the whole family is getting a HEA and reaping some reward for their moral existance.
Author's Response: Thank you for such a lovely review. You are right, it is fitting that they should be able to have a relatively normal existence and to be almost human again. It would make life very interesting I imagine!

Good Epi, but I'm confused. Will there be a sequel? Congrats on finishing.
Author's Response: No sequel, but someone has suggested I might do a one shot of the confrontation at some point. At the moment, I'm too focussed on my new story to think about it , though. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. People like you make this process really worth it. :)

Poor Jasper! Good for Bella...and Edward too.
Author's Response: I know - he felt everything. But at least Bella is back!

You've definitely left me anxious with that ending, but - story-wise - I think it was a very good ending. If you ever wrote a sequel, I would for sure be reading it. This was a great story, and I'm looking forward to looking at your new story.
Author's Response: Thank you XlaraC. Someone has suggested that I might write a one-shot instead of a sequel, which I might consider at some point. At the moment though, I am too involved in my new story.
I have just had the first chapter beta'ed and its looking good! She says she hasn't seen a premis like it and is looking forward to reading more. It will be a little while, though, as I like to get most of it done before I start posting. :)

Oh man it just stupmed me.. I was reading along and bam end. Left me hanging.
Loved the story otherwise..

Author's Response: It was a bit risky, but most people (who have left reviews) seem to not mind too much. I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of the story, though. Thanks for leaving a review. :)

Just when I thought things were looking up for the happy couple. Something always has to ruin the fun lol
Author's Response: It's true. If it's any consolation, I'm sure Bella would have sorted them all out. Can you imagine Caius on the floor giggling? lol
Reviewer: mmsa (Signed) · Date: September 30, 2011 08:16 PM · On: Epilogue
I have to say, I was nervous to read that they had no emotions and wondered how you were going to evolve the characters. You did a great job with that, and I agree with you wholeheartedly, I sometimes want to kill my husband...anyways....I seriously hope you will consider to do a sequel, if not at least a one shot of the confrontation. The imagination is a very powerful thing and mine has simply gone off it's rocker, I'm thinking your version is better. Thanks for sharing.
Author's Response: Thank you so much mmsa. Actually, a one-shot isn't a bad idea. I will give some serious thought to that. I didn't have anything like enough thought to make another story, or extend this one into something interesting, but a one shot is definately doable!
At the moment, I am writing the Vampyre Queen, and my head is filled with thoughts about that. Perhaps when I get a bit of a block, I can tinker with it.
Thanks so much for leaving a review - very much appreciated!

Well...Looby....Wow! You stumped me. I love the story though...and your writing always amazes me! Not everything in life is all wrapped up with a perfect beginning or ending. It leaves us to our imagination. We see a strong and happy family, and the Volturi are coming...nah....not a problem. I see the Cullen's inviting them in for a small dinner....er....deerner, lol, and as they sit around sharing a doe or two...well...Bella makes the Volturi feel really really happy, and then they thank the Cullen's for the hospitality, and grab a deer leg or two, and go on their merry way...lol. Love your leaving Edward and Bella happy, and we now know what Charlie has moved on, and the Cullens are leaving also. Love the story, love your writing. You had me so worried when you told us long ago that we may hate the ending....I thought you were going to have Bella come out of a dream or coma, and find Edward dead or something...GAH. So so much happier with your ending. If anyone gives you crap...tell them to go write a story or two...LOL! Peace...xoxo
Author's Response: You are definately right - Bella would have no problem sorting out the Volturi. Someone has suggested I write the confrontation as a one-shot as I don't want to do a sequel, which I might consider at some point. I really like your idea of an ending though!
I wouldn't be so nasty as to try a Dallas ending! And I could never ever kill off Edward. It would upset me too much! A couple of people have said they didn't like it, but the majority have been pretty positive, which is nice.
Thank you so much for following this story, and for leaving such great reviews. People like you make me want to write more stories - I love creating things that other people enjoy. I hope you give my next one a reading when I start to post. It'll be a little while yet, as I've only just sent the first chapter of to be beta'ed and I like to have most of it done before I start. I still haven't quite figured out the ending either!! If it's anything like my other stories, it'll write itself anyway. :)
Reviewer: snowgood (Signed) · Date: September 30, 2011 07:12 PM · On: Epilogue
I thought the ending was mostly very playful, until your last sentence! Though, we all know the story so it's not hard to imagine what would happen if Bella faced the Volturi! So, loved it anyway!
Author's Response: Thank you. Your comments mean a great deal to me. I'm sure Bella would have them all eating out of the palm of her hand. :)
Reviewer: mountainlion718 (Signed) · Date: September 30, 2011 06:38 PM · On: Epilogue
interesting ending! maybe Bella was able to make the Volturi feel ultimate fear and was able to make them leave that way???? Happy Birthday!!!
Author's Response: That would be pretty cool! I also have a picture of Caius giggling like a little girl and Jane huddled in a corner on the floor crying. I'm pretty sure Bella would be able to handle the lot of them!
I had a fabulous Birthday, thanks!

I'm sorry but this is a very unsatisfactory ending. I loved the entire story but, the ending sucks.
Author's Response: So sorry Intsu. I knew it was a risk, but others have said they like it, so I can't feel too bad. You can always ignore the last few sentences and pretend I didn't write them. I appreciate your comments though, and want to thank you for reading. I hope to do better another time, so please don't let it put you off reading anything else I write.

wow so their no hope for a sequal maybe later in the future lol - ur like stephanie with midnight sun!! lmao
Author's Response: lol - you never know, if I get bored I might revisit it, but I have no plans as yet. Besides, all I can see is Bella dominating the lot of them!!! Can you imagine Jane grovelling on the floor with fear, and Caius giggling with joy? lol
As it is, my head is full of my new story, so I have no room for anything else. Thanks so much for leaving a review.

I liked the ending. =) Exciting, and what's wrong with using your imagination?? Great story. It was really one of my favorites. =)
Author's Response: Thank you Casey. Some people didn't (and have registered their disapproval) but it's nice to know that others did appreciate it. I feel honoured that it was a favourite of yours. Thanks for leaving a review for me. :)

This is great. I'm glad I finally got my internet working again so I could read this. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Being without the internet sucks! I never thought I would say that, as I'm very suspicious of technology, but once I had it, I was never going back! Only an epilogue left now, which I shall be posting very shortly. Thanks for the review. :)
Reviewer: HockeyChick (Signed) · Date: September 26, 2011 12:07 AM · On: Source

Author's Response: Good! Just the epilogue to go now :( I hope you give my next story a try when I start to post it.

Wow Looby. I know I've said that before, but honestly. What a unique spin on the story. She's not only able to protect herself, but damn...could she stir up problems, lol. My heart was breaking when Bella kept saying "you left me". GAH. So well done. She was just so damn sad. I think she was sending her emotions through the screen, lol. I was actually thinking to myself "What's going to happen when she is sexually turned on?" LOL...and WHAM....I got my answer. I think you were reading my mind....Hmmmmm....LOL. So so well done. Finally Bella is Alive and Well! (OK I took that line), but hell....damn....love this damn story. You know, it wouldn't be funny either if she actually was still able to get pregnant, so the ENTIRE Cullen family could share in the actual birth....hahahahaha. Always wanted to share the experience with my husband. Anyway....thank you again for a wonderful chapter. Hope to see more writing soon!! XoXo
Author's Response: I could just hear Esme saying "Oh, my!" in my head. It made me laugh when I wrote it. I'm glad I answered all your questions. :)
I thought it was an unusual version of Bella's shield - certainly not one that has been done before! As for the pregnancy thing, that never crossed my mind, but it would be hilarious to see Emmett with cravings and hormones!!! It almost makes me want to write a crackfic of my own story!!! lol
So, just an epilogue left - which may make you scream with rage, if my beta is correct, but I've decided to let it stand. You might hate me after that!!!
Thanks again for the lovely review. x
