  "Bella, I wanted to introduce you to one of our visiting doctors.(...)  I'd like to introduce you to Dr. Carlisle Cullen."        HAHAHAHAAAHH!  Just after talking with Charlie about Edward!  Completely red-handed!        X-D

  And now Carlisle will, certainly, take away 99% of the difficulties Edward is having to identify his golden-eyed goddess.        :-P

  So, the reason for their break-up was Jacob's transformation.  I should have guessed.  Extra reason for him to hate James.  But it looks like things between Jake and Bella are not so bad, after all.  Maybe he will relax the "go away as soon as possible" routine a tad?        ^_^

James seriously jumped the gun on this relationship, but I still kinda feel bad for him here. 

  'I was a player, pure and simple, but she baffled me and messed up my head in ways that I couldn't fathom. Maybe I just needed to fuck her to clear my head.   I was imagining about Charlie.  Your explanation was succinct, but okay.  The way you described, it reminded me when she had to flee from Forks, in the books, because of James, her excuses almost the same.  But, then again, it is almost the same situation.
