We were in our meadow, laying back on our blanket while Carlie laughed as she, Bones and Vlad ran around and around. Everything was perfect. The sun was shining, there was a light breeze keeping us cool as we watched our beautiful four-year old having fun.
Looking over at Bella, I watched as she looked over our daughter with so much love and pride, her right hand moving over the slight bulge of her stomach. It was no or never.
"Marry me, Bella," I asked, sitting up and gaining her full attention.
"Baby…" she whispered, her eyes widening in shock.
I shook my head. "What are you waiting for?"
"Edward…"
That was weird… I heard her, but her lips didn't move.
Suddenly, the laughter stopped and when I looked, Carlie was gone. I panicked for a moment until I looked back over at Bella, whose stomach had multiplied in size at an alarming rate. The look on her face was one of elation and apprehension combined.
"It's time."
Rolling over, I opened my eyes, groaning and squinting against the sunlight that was filtering in through the sheer curtains until I focused on Bella. My beautiful Bella. Everything I had just dreamed seemed foggy and unclear as I took in her appearance: sitting on the edge of our bed, fully clothed and rubbing her belly, looking serene…
Everything came back in a flash and I shot up, panicked and throwing the blankets away from me. "Oh my god! It's time!"

Enjoyed the frozen yogurt with Edward and Bella. Both complained at first, but not for long. Sticky no matter how much was licked off same as whipped cream. The nursery was gorgeous. Neutral, but something that can grow with Carlie until her personality comes through with what she wants to decorate the room. Then grandma will do the room over again to her wishes. The baby shower was so sweet and cute. Liked the surprise of the icing color giving away the sex of the baby. Can't blame Bella for not liking Emmett's estimation of size of baby. A 10 lb baby is no fun. Bella is suppose to be petite. I'm probably a medium built and I had a 10 lb 1oz baby boy 22" long and can attest to it not being a pleasant experience. I wouldn't give him up for the world. Neither would Bella or Edward either. Really sorry for this story Horse Play ending, but looking forward to the sequel.
Author's Response: The frozen yogurt was originally going to be an outtake, but I had way too much fun and thought you'd all enjoy it :P
My boys were both under 9lbs and I'm itty bitty! (5'2" and normally 110-120 lbs)...mind you I didn't birth them the old fashioned way--emergency c-section with the first and scheduled c with the second... but I was told had I birthed my first I'd have been destroyed because of how he was positioned :S Um, no thanks!

Thanks AG...for another amazing chapter. I loved it! I loved how you gave us an explanation of what was going on with James and all of the horses. I loved it when Edward and Bella came home and found the nursery done. So sweet, and so Esme. Loved it! I wasn't sure if they were going to actually let the family know what sex the baby was, and I loved how they gave the information to their families. Yay!! So sweet. Emmett's guess...ROFL. Love your Emmett. When I read your list of guesses....Emmett's stood out right away. Loved it~! Can't wait for little Carlie to be born, but then again that would be the end of your beautiful story. I don't know if I want it to end....even though you promise a bit of a second story...lol. I am so so spoiled. Love great writing. Keep up the great work.
Author's Response: So glad you liked it! It was important to wrap up the James bits in this story...
There is a picture of the nursery crib and bedding on my FB page (Angel Gddess) and my FFn profile. Enjoy :)
I LOVE Emmett. I love writing his POVs as well. (I've written him twice and had a blast both times--The McCarty Affair--on FFn and The Mechanics of Thrust--here and FFn).

Very cute! I had two baby showers, one from my mother, which was nice and we didn't play stupid games. And one from my mother in law, we all lived far apart, which was embarrassing as they guessed how many sheets of toilet paper it would take to wrap around my belly and how much weight I put on! So, glad you didn't humiliate Bella!
Author's Response: I had one shower with each pregnancy and I did not play any games. I'm not a fan of them...

Every thing is turning out great.I still think that Bella needs to stop being a chicken shit and tell Edward she's seen the ring and wants it all with him I'm glad that the poor pup Vlad gets a second chance at a loving home.and that Alice and Jasper are moving back home.also it would be awesome if Carlie could be born on her dads birthday that would be the greast gift Edward could ever recieve.
Author's Response: I agree, she does, but it'll come to light soon enough! IF it makes you feel better, she won't keep it a secret :)

There's a boo boo in the chapter I caught: You have Bella's due date guess wrong. I'm sure you meant June like on the list but in the paragraph above it it says July. Just thought I would point that out. Don't kill me lol
Author's Response: You're the second reader to have caught the boo boo! I did go back in and fix it the day I posted! Thanks! It was meant to be "June" not July :D Thanks!!
