Sad chapter... done well... emotionally packed.  Noted Billy and Charlie being friends.  It'll be interesting to see if Charlie Swan has a daughter of a different name, given there is only one Bella. 

Still looking forward to your 15th chapter... and I see we are almost there.  :-)

awwww I cryed all the chapter!!! its was so sad!!! I even fell for Levy! he was such a great guy! Between u and me, even better than Edward! such a wonderful story of those too  awwww buahhhhh lol Lovely and so so so sad

  'She set the strange vampire's head on fire first – torture was anathema to her and, though Levi had left the head for last on at least one vampire enemy, she would never do so'        Yeah, I was curious about it.  In your conception, the vampire is still conscious even beheaded, right?  Makes sense, if so.

  'His last request to her had been to be happy. She knew she might have decades if not centuries ahead of her...someday, she might be happy again...but as she collapsed on his still, cooling chest, she couldn't do anything but mourn.'        Ok, woman, you did it.  You managed to make me cry.        X_{

Yeah... I didn't want her to have to kill a victim, to be honest. It would have been a whole other dilemma to sort through. 

Ah well, the beheading and burning thing comes up...again...later. Mwahaha!

And...yeah. I kinda got teary when I wrote that part, too.  I'd say I'm sorry...but...it did the job so I guess I'm not?

  'For himself, Levi pounded to the cabin. Gotta stop this. I can't live like this. I love her, I love her, I love her, but I can't. I have to be with my family.'      Joshua...  And the way their last meeting ended...  I was affraid something like this would happen.  That to be apart from his family would be too much for Levi.      :(

  'It would be their "first time" together. The idea made him laugh a little. "Never heard of anyone taking this long to consummate a marriage," he murmured against her throat.        "I'll make it worth your while," she promised on a purr.        She did.'        Making the best of the time they have left, huh?        :-T

  "How is she, with all this?" Old Quil asked. "She hasn't tried to drain you dry yet, eh?"        I imagine that, at this point, even Quil is just teasing.        :-]

  "He got his girlfriend pregnant and he's doing the honorable thing by marrying her. Most honorable thing that boy has done in his whole life."          Sam on his way, I imagine.

  'Levi felt as if he were changing clothes, or maybe even phasing again as he shifted from speaking about werewolves and vampires to grandchildren and weddings. His chest felt tight with tension and he struggled, all during the ceremony, to just keep drawing air into his body.        He didn't even notice the point when he stopped.'        So saaaad...        X_{

Yes... It is too hard for Levi. Bella is his love, but not his imprint. :(

Yes,they they will thoroughly enjoy their time and yes, Quil was teasing. :D Mostly. lol  

The lineage for the Uley's is Levi to Josh Sr. to Josh Jr. to Sam and Josh Jr. to Embry.

And yeah....It was a hard place to end that chapter!

The Cullens were in the area, per canon, in the 1930's. They'd gone before Isabella came running through the forest in 1944.  Per canon, they return in 2003. That's what they'll do here, too.

In New Moon Charlie tells Alice that Bella is such a constant girl, which is why she is not getting over Edward.

I had to think about that because in this chapter especially Bella once again is so constant. She loves Levi no matter what and is always there for him. Levi is a really lucky fellow in that respect.

It also makes me wonder what Bella is going to do now.

Yes, I tried to keep Bella CANON in her personality, though different in that she's lived so long. 

I do believe she IS a constant little thing. ;-) She loves Levi, so much.  

What will she do? She'll mourn.  She'll protect the Reservation.

And when the Cullens return in 2003, she'll have neighbors. :D  And...they'll freak her out.  Just a little. *grin*

This chapter was obviously a filler to keep the story pointed in the right direction... I'm anxiously awaiting the Cullens arrival - but then again, who isn't?  :-)

Actually, lol, it wasn't written to be filler. It was written to show how Bella and Levi were married as opposing species, why he let the wolf go, and how he became human. To me, this chapter was really kind of the culmination of their relationship.  And then, he's dying at the end of it.  Nah, not filler from my end, anyway. ;-)

The Cullens reappear in 2003, remember. *grin* I'm not changing that.  There is a "time passing" chapter that might be considered a transitional chapter though...it's just not this one. :D

They left the area."        This is not the first fic it's said that an Swan ancestor married a indian girl.  Is this canon?  Just curious.

  'He looked like he'd been to Volterra, met Aro and returned. Bella felt sick.'      Ugh!  That sounds truly devastating!      :-P

  Levi's family meeting wasn't so promising as Bella's.  I confess I didn't expect this result; at least as an final outcome.  Joshua freaked so badly...  :(

  "Ah, Bella. It'll always hurt, what happened with my son. With – with Joshua. But I can still protect him. He still needs protection. And his life is his own. That – that makes it worth the sacrifice, you know?"      Glad he could get over that.      :)

  "Earlier, I was on the boat with the guys, you know, working on the nets? And we had the radio on and –" He grimaced and met her eyes. "President Kennedy was shot in Dallas."        She gasped. "He was assassinated?"        "Yeah."        I like how you integrate historical facts in your tale, and let them affect our guys.  Makes it more real, I guess.      :-]

I know, right? Gee....what ARE the odds? *lol* Yeah, smug author over here. lol

I myself have actually incorporated James Swan's background into the Forks Swan backstory in my story Never Saw That Coming. I base this off of historical information I found here: http://www.lib.washington.edu/SpecialColl/findaids/docs/papersrecords/SwanJames1703.xml. Now, historically, we do NOT read that James Swan married an Indian, no. But as I had said in NSTC, there was a real bias against that -- and in some places it was flat out against the law -- so it COULD have happened, even if it didn't.  In canon? I don't know that there's anything to back it up, no.

I am not always kind to my characters. Bittersweet seems to be my favorite flavor.  

I'm glad you enjoy the historical tidbits. I tried to show time moving and affecting my characters without going overboard. :)
