Like it? I love it. Nobody can write romance like you. I like the image of the phallus as a gift from God to be worshipped. That's the kind of romantic ideal that I strive for.
tHis is just great. I love how Carmen and Eleazar's relationship slowly develops until she becomes a confident and powerful female predator.
So I'd call this a triumph for you ;) Loving every minute of it!

Author's Response: He, he, even virtous women have naughty thoughts about the man they love.

"And then I felt it, the inverted tremor descending from my depths to where we were joined, my walls contracting around him, a woman, finally, despite Sandro, despite my change and all that had wounded me"
This is possibly one of the best descriptions of a first orgasm I've ever read.
I feel a little bad picking that section out of the entire fic, because there was so much else there. But that really stood out, and not just because it was part of the naughty part.
Thank you so much for the mention of my story. I'm glad I had a read of your work, too. I will add The Parachutist onto my 'to read' list. It's taking me a while to get through multichapters but after this story, I'm keen to read.
Thank you.
Author's Response: Some time ago, in a complete different situation, (I have only a male son), I was thinking how I would describe an orgasm to a grandaughter, or to a young niece, if they asked me. Because it is important that you offer the right information, if they ask. So I came up in my mind with what I have eventually written here. Nobody asked me, by the way, but I think I got it right, and I am so glad that you think the same.

First of all, I like your image of Eleazar. He looks like a vampire. A very handsome vampire. And I absolutely love him for turning Carmen down the first time she offered herself to him. My heart was breaking for her as she made that decision, because it was very clear that she'd come to think of herself as an object rather than a person. Eleazar shows how much he truly respects her by waiting until she wants him.
That must have been so creepy for her to wake up and realize what she had become and find herself already given over to yet another man. At first I was against Eleazar for claiming her as a possession, but he made up for it by his later actions.
Their love story is interesting to me because, for Carmen at least, the love wasn't instantaneous or pre-determined, but something that grew out of mutual respect for each other.
It was really great to get this backstory on two little-explored characters from the books. Thanks for telling the tale.

Author's Response: I swear, the two chapters almost wrote themselves. Carmen spoke to me and explained why she loved Eleazar so much. Then I had to do a lot of research on the Spanish civil war, and on Catalan names etc-. The funniest thing were the two words whore and fuck. I found a member of Friends of the Earth living in the Baleares. She is English, but in her office they speak Catalan. And then it came out that the two words are the same in Spanish (much easier to find, of course).

This is just so lovely. You describe their unions in ways that are poetic instead of crude, so beautiful and filled with feeling. So happy to read this again, and waiting with great anticipation for what is to come!
Author's Response: To write love anbd sex scenes in a tasteful way was a challenge I wanted to win. At the beginning I was simply too shy, and I didn't even had the language for it in English, but eventually I managed, I think.
Just BTW, if you belong to the site "A different forest" I have initiated a campfire (a debate, that is) on what to have sex means, because there are substantial differences on the two Atlantic sides. it is serious debae, but also fun.
