Super sexy. And you may not condone bombing NK, I sure as heck wouldnt mind a ballistic missile care package delivered straight to Kim Jong.

Author's Response:

He is fairly dickworthy...

Author's Response:

Cool!  I stumbled across "Bite to Break Skin" when I saw your banner there.  I read it all in one afternoon.

Rats!  I love Rumi and I was all excited that there was a volume that I had missed!

Can't wait to see what happens next!

Author's Response:

You don't happen to know what book I can find that poem in, do you?  None of my Rumi books have it.

OMG! I just reread part of this chapter again and just had a flash of intuition! What if it was Carlisle that was killed!!? That Edward writing to Carlisle is just a form of keeping in touch with him in journal form cause Carlisle is no longer around to talk to? This would keep within the canon theory of one mate and would explane Edward's pain and withdrawal at what happened 70 yrs ago. His writing to Carlisle is his way of keeping the memory alive of his mentor and sire? Kinda like how a human would go to a loved ones gravesite to talk to them?

Nice rewrite of the legends and now we know that there is no treaty and no wolves at this point of the story - great job! I wonder who lost their mate altho I'd have to guess it's Edward our poor reclusive boy (vamp, whatev) :)

I can imagine that when Bella returns to the story smelling of dog E is not going to be a happy camper, or maybe he will have visit her since he pushed her away to being with.  And now too Bella has some ammunition when she confronts him..eeep, I am nervous for poor Edward!

Thank you for the superb, quick update!!

Your writing is so vivid that I feel like have walked into the setting myself!  Wow!

Reviewer: venus308 (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2010 05:55 PM · On: Chapter 8

Oh my! This is an interesting take! Bet the cold ones that were attacked were the Cullens and could have Edward lost his mate during that attack and that is why he is not with them? Great story!

I'm sorry I didn't stop to review each chapter but your story is so intriguing.  A different twist and I'm loving it.  I'm looking forward to more soon.

Wow. Umm *fans self* This is one of those rare, amazing fics that it's really sensual without smut. Amazing.

Edward is stronger than the books, I really like that. He is tempted and he just met her but he is resisting.

Author's Response:

Uh...we'll get there, soon enough.  Sorry.

Reviewer: vegetarianvamps (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2010 11:13 AM · On: Chapter 2

I thought it was weird that she mentioned that his eyes were dark, but I wasn't sure that he was a vampire. This looks so good! I'm glad I decided to check it :)

I really enjoyed the twist on the Quileute legend and the telling of said legend in this chapter. It's going to be very interesting to see where your going with it since it sounds as if there is no treaty, and a whole lot of bad blood between them.

Wonderful visual writing of that scene, btw. I felt as though I could see them all very clearly gathered around that fire. It was very all very engaging and edgy, as I'm sure you intended it to be. Oh, and am I sensing a little foreshadowing with the Sam/Leah/Emily triangle? That makes me a little sad. I always felt awful for Leah in the books. (Yes, way too attached to these characters, but then aren't we all, lol.)

With the vampire mating bond being what it is - or what it is mainly portrayed as - I can see the possibility of it being Edward's mate who was killed by the Pack. His reclusive behaviour and general air of melancholy certainly lend credence to that thought. I'm struggling however, with the idea of him not finding some way to exact revenge, or that he could ever love Bella given the 'one mate' mentality the books established. Going with canon 'law' - so to speak. I'm definitely not the canon police and this is your story, lol - Edward would most likely have offed himself after such a loss. Which then makes me wonder... Carlisle/Esme? After all if there was one vampire capable of turning the other cheek and not attempting to slaughter the entire Pack, it would be him.

Wheels are definitely spinning now... The letters to Carlisle...The melancholy that could also be guilt/trauma...Alice attempting to bring the family back together again... Hmm...

Can't wait for more, but update when you can. No worries. I'm too hooked on this wonderful story to harm its writer. :-)

Good luck with the next chapter.

Author's Response:

No, no Emily/Sam/Leah love triangle.  Sam has never phased, and therefore has never imprinted on Emily.  If you remember, Jared didn't imprint on Kim until after he phased.  Sam's relationship with Leah progressed the way they had both assumed it would back in high school.  I just put the thing about Emily in there to emphasize the fact that Sam and Emily weren't together, and to be funny. :)

Reviewer: Aleea-b4u (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2010 10:18 AM · On: Chapter 7

Well...Edward did f**k it up, just as you warned, but I believe Bella managed to get under his impermeable skin before he cut and bailed, so me thinks he'll be back sooner rather than later. Pretty safe bet there, lol.

I'm dying of curiosity to know what's going on with Alice and Jasper and the messed up game of follow the leader. One could assume with Alice at the helm that her intention was not only to alert Edward to their presence, but also to play matchmaker. But I do know what they say about assumption so I'll wait patiently for you to reveal the deal.

And btw, can I just say - HOLY SH** that was some kiss? Uh, yeah! Wowsers...

What the hell was I saying...?

Ah yes. Great chapter. Well written. Thanks for sharing...yada yada...Going to read the kiss scene again...Uh, I mean, update soon!

Oh right. You already did. Um... Yay me. I get to read another chapter. Or should I say, yay you, I get to read another chapter?

Did I mention that was an incredible kiss scene. Kind of scrambles the brain a little...

;-)

Author's Response:

LoL.  You're funny.  And thanks.

I am really intrigued by this story!  I think your writing captures their personalities, esp. Edward's, perfectly.  I can't wait to read the next chapter.  Great job.

Oh, you know I think from clues in the earlier parts of this story I may know who the wolves killed.  *sob!*
