This Jacob is a very very creepy guy. I am impressed that Edward is aware of the dangers his wife could be in. I had not really thought about how precarious life for a woman could be back then while the husband is off at work and the wife at home tending to chores. The sparcity of population and general lawlessness is unerving. I am very glad that Bella is learning to shoot a gun...she is most likely going to need it. Thanks

Well this is one determined Jacob Black. Normally he's portrayed as persistent but passive in his quest to get Bella but this seems like it will be all out war.
What I don't get is why he would want a taken woman who will most likely be getting pregnant in the near future with how sexually active Edward is with her. Unless he thinks he can be quick enough to steal her away before that happens.

Author's Response: I am going to have to insert more of a rationale for Jacob in future chapters.
Just to give you an idea: He's very egocentric and he doesn't really consider the consequences of his actions. He is a very rash man. He was the youngest and spoiled and indulged hugely by his mother and father.
He just wants Bella and he's a man who goes after what he wants. He wouldn't care if she was pg (as long as it wasn't obvious).
He doesn't see her as a person but as a possession.
He is jealous of Edward because Edward has always shown him up. Edward's always been tougher, wiser, and harder working. Edward bought his land after receiving an inheritance from his Grandmother but it was Edward's hard work that brought it to the success that BVR is now.
And the getting of Bella? It was happenstance, star struck, fated, God intended... and Jake sees that and is envious of that.
And when Jake would have some fun, Edward wouldn't join him in it and even cautioned against it.. that's why Jake would occasionally call him a jonah...
I can see I really need to clarify this.

Gave me a big giggle that Bella's putting the KS book to good use and hey, it's not like Edward's going to argue. I love the way that you've made Edward very forward thinking, quite different to many people of their time when women were often treated as 2nd class citizens. Edward seems eager to treat & have Bella understand that he sees her as an equal.
