I'm really enjoying all of this story. Visiting the 19th century has been very educational, especially through these characters. Very interesting about the way things were dealt with back then. We're so spoiled these days with all the modern conveniences.

No, not too much 19th century living at all! I'm really enjoying it!! :) My 15 year old daughter is writing her own vampire story (non-twilight related) and she is doing a lot of research on Romania and life in the 18th century. I think its details like this that make these stories more real, more enjoyable, and more exciting!! I really appreciate all the effort you are going through in this story. I LOVE IT SO FAR!!! :)

I am enjoying the step back in time. The balance between historical information and story line is perfect for my tastes. thanks for the update. I love this story! You're doing a wonderful job in my opinion. I know Edward was from Chicago in SM's books, but I went to law school in Chicago and I LOVE that city. I'm excited when anyone uses it.

I think you're giving them the perfect amount of depth. I like reading stories where the characters aren't always so canon. There's only so many times I can read a weak weeping Bella, a bitchy narcisitic Rose or shopaholic Alice. You're doing great.

I'm enjoying your story. I am interested to see where it's going and to have Alice get things off her chest so they can more on and get over it. The only problem I have is with some of your word usage. I'm from the South and I've never heard anyone ever use the word "lawsy." The only place I've ever heard it was in Gone with the Wind and it was used by an African-American. I also read a lot from the time period and about the time period and I've never seen it. I appreciate the research you've apparently done, but some times it can go a bit too far.
Author's Response: Your observations are interesting but haven't been my experience. Maybe "Lawsy" was a regionalism that was in use by my Grandmother's generation. They used Lawsy all the time. She lived her whole life in Virginia. That generation is gone now. I, myself grew up in Virginia and, honestly, I remember many of my Nannie's generation use that word.
Bella's word usage duplicates my grandmother and since Bella is from the same area, I don't think her use of Lawsy is unreasonable.
Just wait until she says, "I swahn."
I am glad you are reading and hope you continue to enjoy the story.
