"I want to die and be reborn in your arms."

That line just blew me away. Oh, and the discussion about the morphine. How the hell didn't we pick up on that bit before?  You're a genius!

Ohhhhh, NOW the conflict is getting serious!  Hit of soap opera going on here, but you're still conveying it all really well.  Bella is young after all, so her reactions are entirely within the usual standards!

Hey girl

This is a great chapter!  Every storyline needs conflict to keep the plot moving, and I think you've come up with a great way of keeping it all ticking over nicely.

Seriously, your writing talent is wonderful. The voice of 'your' Bella is fantastic, and I'm so impressed with what you've written so far.  I hope that you're having fun with it all, because this is absolutely addictive from a reader's point of view.

Cheers

Sandy

Awesome chapter! I love a good struggle! Maybe I'm just addicted to angst, but I love a story that can make my chest tighten up when something so sad and intense happens and I can't count how many times His...At Long Last has done that to me. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Hooo boy, is it hot in here?

That was ... well I don't quite know what to say, other than to say it was SENSATIONAL!  It was so sweet, and so beautifully done.  You conveyed Bella's uncertainty so well - I only wish MY first time could have been that good!

Reviewer: sandyk199 (Signed) · Date: January 21, 2009 12:46 AM · On: Chapter 3- Here Comes the Bride...

Okay, I have a bit of a problem. I'm worried that I'm going to run out of gushy things to say, and then how am I going to rave on about your writing? Hmmm?  This story has started off so fantastically well that I was over the moon right from the word go, and now I've realised that there are a lot more chapters to go.

If I try to maintain my raving reviews at this fever pitch, there's the genuine possibility that I may explode.

All I'm saying is, that if you reach compliment saturation and go into some sort of sugar coma, you've only brought this on yourself...

*happy sigh*

See, this is what Breaking Dawn should have been like.  Hot damn but that book annoyed me.  Don't get me wrong, I've re-read it a few times now and I can tolerate it, but I'm sure you'll agree it was a crushing letdown - and they're never going to be able to film it.

Still, your version more than makes up for it - I'm totally addicted already!

Oh this is just WONDERFUL!

I'm already hooked on your writing 'voice'.  You have a clear, crisp delivery, your dialogue flows very naturally, and your descriptions are great without being a case of 'too much information'.

All in all, this is a very pleasant read, and I'm looking forward to more. You hear me? MORE! LOL.  Hey, I may be 38, but I can still turn into a rabid Twilight fangirl with the best of 'em!

Well, it finally came back to bite him in the ass. I'm sort of glad; sort of annoyed. They've been through so much already.

Awesome chapter.  I love the way you wrote that.  I love how vocal Edward was.  I believed he really enjoyed himself.  I am so glad you wrote it that way.  I get tired of people writing it like he still would have that much of a control problem with her blood. Most people write like he is miserable the entire time and can barely make it.   I am going to have to read it again.

WELL DONE!!!!

First time reviewer, and before I get ready to throw my stones let me say I love this story. Even though the obstacles are increasingly frustrating (pointed look), they make for a satisfying bond between Bella and Edward, and you're right every great love needs a struggle.

There were so many touching moments in this story, from the wedding, to Rosalie's gift (well, her loan but still), to Emmett and his large cuddly self. There was that awful ride to Alaska (the horror), and the lovely reconciliation. You certainly are a master of not only the true nature of human (or vampire) relations but the bonds of love and ANGST. Arrggghhh.

Lovely story really...so I've decided to hold off stoning in exchange for an update. (Don't mind my teasing)

Love (and anxious dashes to refresh the most recent page)

Svelte

BREATHE. BREATHE. IN. OUT. IN. OUT. I can't type if I can't breathe right. And I can't see what I'm typing if these tears don't subside. I have to force the tears to stop. I have to take deep breaths to calm my thundering heart and still my trembling hands. And I must turn to my computer once again, ready to convey just exactly what has happened to me with this latest addition to what is undoubtedly a work of pure poetry.

Blessed Alyssa.....I’m at a loss for words.

I am shocked, frozen, dumbfounded, and just completely awed by it all. TRULY AWED. This was so different from what I expected. SO different. (I sigh…) I was, in confession, expecting a traditional “awakening scene” where Bella would immediately remember everyone, shield intact, and thirst in submission. I expected a tender and passionate reunion between our B&E. Basically, Alyssa, I expected everything to be tied up in a nice little chapter that would capture all of the basic elements with your style and flair for ardor. But my, oh my, how you’ve opened my eyes to something so completely and utterly magnificent. I should’ve known better.

I choked in confusion and disorientation with Bella. I looked on with fear, hope, and wonder with the Cullens. And I cried and sobbed in unison with Edward, my chest heaving in tempo with his heartbreak. I became them and lived it with them. And I don’t know exactly how to thank you for that. All I know to do is post you a review and give your story the highest rating I can. But all my heart can do is whisper it’s reverence for your writing, praying you understand just how amazing I think it is.

That Bella remembers Edward last is shocking and breaks my heart. But I think I understand why this is. When a person recovers from a tragedy or a traumatic event, it is often the most intense and consuming memory that is last able to break through the barrier that is erected to protect the mind and the soul. Bella remembers the easy, the comfortable, and the least jarring first. It’s what’s most accessible to her and within her reach. But Edward (deep sigh…)….he is ingrained so deeply within Bella’s very being that to bring him forth immediately would be too much for her to bear. Too much for her still fragile self to absorb. And so the memories of him trickle in slowly, painfully so. Excruciatingly for our beloved Edward. And this makes it all the more devastating to endure.

What I found most jarring was that it was the memory of him leaving her in the forest that served as the first real understanding Bella had of who Edward was in her life. Such a revelation can cripple her return to self, and simultaneously, torture Edward once again for his most grievous mistake.

I agree with you that the road to B&E’s reunion should be not easy. The struggle is what makes it all the more divine in the end. And I not only trust that such divinity will be conquered by our beloved B&E in your work, but I have complete faith in the love, passion, and devotion you conceive for them. They deserve nothing less. It is one word, RAPTURE. And it’s beautiful.

Okay, no rock throwing, it was painful yes, put it's part of their history, the good has to come with the bad, and Bella has to remember it all. Just PLEASE help her remember soon. And also update sooner

excelent chapter even if it was sad and left us with a mayor cliffhanger.

Okay.  No stone throwing.  But I expect a damn good lemon soimewhere in the upcoming chapters. ;)

Reviewer: tiffanyanne3 (Signed) · Date: January 20, 2009 09:05 PM · On: Chapter 12- Opening My Eyes To the Sun

I somehow knew that was what she'd remember about him. Gah! I still have faith though. ;)
