Dammit! I wrote a big long review of this chapter and my internet connection reset while it was submitting and I lost it! Can't even remember what I said now, as I'm too pissed off to think clearly.
One thing I will say is that the chapter title is so apt. So apt. I actually felt like that when I was reading the part where Tom was looking at the door, as I knew what was coming. But none of my offscreen urging was going to make our heroes behave any differently than they did, and I could only sit and wait for what I knew was coming.
Having said that, there was plenty of other good stuff in the chapter to keep me distracted for a while. Love the placement of self inside the scene, hehe. I'd forgotten about that one. And I remembered the emails between Rob and Evie right at the beginning, but I didn't recall the girls' reunion conversation around the table. I admire Rob and Evie's restraint, even if I would have been dragging him off to some secluded broom closet somewhere in the building for a quickie to relieve some of the tension. Well, maybe not, hey? Chance of discovery is just too high to risk it.
This time through I actually picked up one of the perps names. Lee. Lee, damn you, you better watch out for yourself. You're going to get what's coming to you I suspect.
So... no romantic reunion/shagfest for Rob and Evie now. Just dealing with the aftermath and fallout... *grimaces*
Good work again, Miss Duders, even if I don't like you putting the gang in this situation.

I remember the first time I read this chapter and how much I pissed myself laughing at these two. Still just as funny, still love Tom instinctively crossing his legs as the cougar eyed his crotch, still love Papa P's advice email, still love how their conversation develops and then degenerates as they continue to drink. Ah, to be a fly on the wall that night...

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear. I'd forgotten about this. This quiet desperation that is in Rob sometimes that only seems to get adressed through sex. Very apparent at the end of this chapter.
Lots of sexy goodness going on, and the kitchen sex was lots of fun, particularly Potty-mouth Pattinson. Loved him letting loose like that. But that later coming together is still disturbing me and I've been off and gotten my lunch in the meantime.
Ugh, Twitter. Love and loathe it in equal amounts sometimes. Why can't people keep stuff to themselves sometimes? Anyway, futile to rant about it.
Ah yes, the Lyric Lounge. My insides are constricting already. Not going to say any more.
And I love Evie becoming all domesticated. Go, girl.

I have sat down several times to read this chapter and kept being interrupted. It was like the universe didn't want me to hear Rob confess his love for Evie or something. Sod you, universe! Ha! I got there in the end.
God that was good. Sooooo good. I loved their 'honesty' conversation. Some very important things came out that really needed to be said, true enough, but what I really love is the way you phrase things. The way they talk to each other. It's just... yeah. Words are failing me, as the kids clamour for my attention.
Lovely, beautiful, very necessary lemon there. They did need to reconnect. I know sex doesn't fix everything, but they'd said some of the important stuff and, really, there was something of even greater importance waiting in the wings to be said and this was when it got said. They love each other! To go from almost possibly breaking up to confessions of love in the one evening... what a memorable night!
Great job, my girl.

Awww poor Rob and Twee, they only just meet back up and it's time to part again, they're like ships that pass in the night, I hope they get some serious quality time together soon.
I can't wait for New York, I hope all three of them are planning on visiting the Pleasure Chest, lol, kids and sweet shop are that words that spring to mind.
I loved this chapter, glad your back Clare, although with my stupid internet connection I find I'm playing catch up all the time at the moment. Look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Well, I'm really sorry, if that was the one thing you loved about it - the frequent updates. I haven't abandoned the story, far from it. But I've had some real life stuff to deal with. If I abandon it, I'll pull the story from the site. However, I have another chapter to submit which I will be doing so soon. If you're looking for weekly updates though, I'm very sorry, but that won't be happening now. It will update, but not weekly.

Boy, I've missed you, and this wonderful story! These last two chapters were just lovely!
It's nice to see Rob and Evie so at peace with each other. I know there's this separation now, but I think havin' Lily and Ben will help ease Evie through it. But what's poor Rob gonna be doin'? I know that work will keep him busy durin' the day, but he's gonna be so very lonely at night. Makes me sad for him.
So, darlin' we need MORE PLEASE, ASAP! Lookin' forward to the next update! Please don't be gone so long next time...although i understand how RL can keep you from the computer and your writin' time

I'm so glad to see my favorite story been updated after such a long wait. But having you saying that the story is nearly finished, got me thinking. What am I going to read after this? I don't imagine those characters just disappearing, this story is so amazing, and the way you write is just, incredible. So good to see Twee and Rob together, drama-free.
