What a sad story! No wonder L hates thinking about her past. Mary Frances was so cruel and hateful! Now that she and Will have found each other, I'm sure things will be better. L's suggestion that both incarnations of Edward court Bella is a pretty good one.

I can barely restrain myself! Edward better make up his fantastic vampire brain and get busy wooing Bella, before he screws up everything! Alice will never forgive him and never let him forget, either.
Author's Response: LOL! He does seem a bit dense at times, doesn't he? But then, he's trapped at 17 and how many 17 year old boys are completely logical?
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 05:01 PM · On: Chapter 10: Rumors and relations
Now both sides of Edward are in hot water with Bella! He can't catch a break no matter which way he goes. At least he took William's good advice.

Will this be a rug or a wallhanging? The threads of two different stories , two different time periods, are being woven together. No wonder Bella is confused and disoriented, I am a bit myself! I'm thinking Edward and Lord Masen are one and the same. No matter who's who, I hate that James is at large and a danger to Bella and possibly Alice.
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 04:14 PM · On: Chapter 8: De sooner de better
Bella's instincts are excellent, for it's evident that James is his usual nasty self, and Laurent is still sneaky as ever. The two of them seem to have spoiled Lord Masen's picnic, if not his whole day.
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 03:40 PM · On: Chapter 7: Deliver de-letter
Don't blame Bella one bit for feeling dizzy, the way Edward changes from one minute to the next. He seems to be a bit jealous of his employer, concerning Miss Swan.
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 03:23 PM · On: Chapter 6: What the L?
If I was married to Micheal Newton, maybe I would drink, too. Sounds as if Lord Masen foiled some nefarious takeover scheme that Newton is mixed up in. Someone wants to develop the village of Evermore and is buying up property, by hook or by crook. What will be next?
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 03:04 PM · On: Chapter 5: Hell and a handbasket
Seems our Bella has made an impression on Lord Masen! I'm not quite sure who, or what, all these people are, but they sure make for the most intriguing village in England, I'll bet!
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 02:46 PM · On: Chapter 4: First day jitters
Mr. Newton is not going to be my favorite character, nor his silly wife. Lord Masen, on the other hand, sounds very promising. Bella seems to get on well with the twins and has no difficulty teaching them. So far, so good!
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 12:33 AM · On: Chapter 3: Back in time and first impressions
L apparently can cast some sort of spell, erasing all modern day memories from Bella's mind. She is suddenly, living in 1827, and assumimg she belongs here. Very interesting!
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 12:14 AM · On: Chapter 2: Revelations and Roommates
Bella has a few more people to meet, I'm sure, especially the owner of the Ducati and the full race helmet. I see Alice is still into visions and Emmett is still a big ole teddy bear. Not quite sure where Aunt L fits into all this, but she seems nice enough.
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 07, 2012 12:00 AM · On: Chapter 1: The Flight
A golden-eyed Alice with extreme fashion sense, and a sweet Southern-accented husband with a passion for Civil War history. Sounds mighty familiar and like meeting old friends in a new setting. I can hardly wait!
Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 06, 2012 03:26 PM · On: Introduction
Now there's a promising beginning! Just what she loves, and free to boot! I would go in a heartbeat!

Don't think anyone would be saying "Okay" in the 1820s and Bella wouldn't be walking round town unaccompanies/unchaperoned. Would have caused outrage for a "respectable" young woman to do so.
Also- what's with L's southern accent (presumably US Southern, not south of England southern?) appearing without Bella noting/commenting as they are in the north of England??
I really like the idea of this story but the rhythym isn't there yet - too staccato and self-conscious.
And for anyone describing a first class transatlantic flight: there are three sets of two seats in each row. Each row is spaced about eight feet apart. Each pair of seats in the side rows face in opposite directions, but the central pair face in the same direction. The pairs are separated by a perspex, opaque divider which is dropped during take off/landing and if the occupants wish to speak to each other. The seats, on pressing buttons, flatten out into a flat bed and you are provided with pyjamas, a thin mattress to go under you and pillow and a quilted blanket to cover you if you are doing an overnight flight (flying to Europe, they are nearly all over-night flights). You wouldn't "curl up" in a first (or business class) seat: they aren't wide enough and you'd simply press the button to recline the seat and have your legs supported all the way down. (it's slightly different in business class and you recline/drop the seat down and have to drop a foot rest down from the back of the seat in front of you to achieve a full "bed-length" seat).
Sorry to be pedantic, but I'm really tired of people writing about "luxury" experiences and describing 1980s American Airlines seats that were phased out (by European airlines at least!) by the 1990s. Food - you select from a menu in both first and business, as well as selecting your champagnes (first only) and wines (business and first) from a wine list. Business class you just get offered whatever their fixed champagne selection is...
PS if you win the lottery - don't bother spending the extra for first class - I've been upgraded and just thought it's nice enough, but not worth the extra. It IS worth paying for business class, if you can afford it though: a step-change from economy or premium economy.

I am loving this! I do believe that Edward is playing two roles, n'est-ce pas? I will be recommending this in my next A/N for my own little tale :-) Very well written and beautifully composed. I might be biased though as I am also a lover of history and therefor easily enraptured by good story telling.
