Edward was definitely cryptic, but there's a story there and I can't wait to read what the heck he's running from. He's trying to help Bella, but why?

Edward has some head trips to overcome as well as Bella.  I can understand her surprise about the announcement.  Edward didn't mention when they would go forward with the engagement being told to the press.  When the wedding would happen, etc.... So when he had her meet him outside and then just spurted it out to the reporters, I can't blame Bella for being shocked.  I would have been also.  Edward's anger at Bella is more his own frustration over the entire situation, the scandal and slander being spewed by the Mallory over Edward's business practices, his attraction towards Bella, the fact he can't stop thinking about her, his business transactions back in Washington, his company's reputation at risk, Bella's physical attack and rape occurred because he didn't arrive to drive her home in time, her vulnerability because of the attack unable to defend or protect herself from the vile Mallory's attack and accusations, his anger for Bella being the patsy and fall guy of the Mallory's since their deal with Edward went sour, his guilt feelings towards what happened to Bella and the scandal from the photo when Edward was taking her to the hospital, and his own personal secrets about being rejected, Bella's secret as to why she was in the hospital, etc...  A lot of factors cumulated together to have Edward come up with the solution to tell the media that they are engaged to be married, to prove Bella wasn't an inside man to have the deal fall apart, explain why he was carrying her to his car, etc....  Bella after being fired approached Edward with the answer of yes.  Bella's being timid due to the shock of being blamed, accused, lied regarding her interaction with Masen & Cullen business arrangement with the Mallory's.  The marriage would let media know Bella had no involvement in the acceptance or denial of the business offer/arrangement between Edward and the Mallorys.  Now we have a hint that Edward has been in this place before with a woman.  Where the woman had a choice to choose him or someone else.  With Jasper and Edward exchanging punches at Bella's apartment, Jasper gives her the choice to choose him or Edward.  Edward wants Bella to choose him for business reasons as well as personal reasons (he is seriously falling for her and wants to be near her, to protect her, etc...).  Looks like we will have to wait for her choice in the next chapter.  From the a/n at the end if Bella is arriving at Edward's hotel late in the evening, we can almost guess she will choose Jasper and have Edward leave.  Where she has to go to him after she has thought through the options.  So looking forward to the following chapter.  Also the trip back to Seattle from New York with Edward taking Bella with him.

Yyyes i think he is to criptic,of course that is part of his charm so far. it could prove to be to much if it goes on to long.

I am glad you are not taking to long inside their heads like in the beginning...Like i said before it makes it to hard to follow the situation if you spend to much time inside their head then on the scene it makes it hard to follow the action or the situation.

I am not sure why Bella is using Jasper as a punching bag,I understand that he went behind her back but she knows he loves her and would not do anything to intentionally hurt her. Her anger at what has happened to her i understand all to well , but her action I dont understand at all.

I dont like that she spends all her time in tears, even SM's Bella didnt cry this much.

With all that said ,I do like the story and cant wait to read more.

Pick Jasper... make Edward cry like a bitch.. i glad we got a little insight to edward mind but sadly it doesn't make me like him if anythink i like him less then i did **sighs** but i'm all aboutgiven chances so yea we shall see how this turns out

I'm not really any more informed by way of this EPOV but I must say I am impressed with his level of commitment to Bella to all ends. For Jasper to show up unannounced, after he got Charlie involved is just wrong. I firmly hope that Bella gives Jasper a kindly sending off and makes him and all the world realized that her sun rises and sets with Edward. Hope you update soon, am loving this story and so eager to see where all this goes. Thanks for writing.
