Oh, I'm loving it! I remember this story from a long time ago when you only had a chapter or two posted. It's really well written, and I love the range of emotion you're putting poor Charlie through. I love Charlie. Of course, he belongs with Tanya, not Kate, and certainly not Sue. But I absolutely love in-the-know Charlie, and I love watching him put it all together. I love getting Twilight through his eyes. I really hope you update this soon!

It's about time we see Charlie portrayed as something other than a clueless incompetent whose only redeeming quality is that he loves Bella. As Midnight Sun illustrated, Charlie is anything but stupid. The way his thought processes are portrayed here seem quite feasible.
I eagerly await the continuation and conclusion of this story.

Three chapters (and a one-shot) through and I am completely and terribly hooked. When I first saw the original idea, I figured it would be fairly interesting at least— but the way you write it really has me on the edge of my seat, and your characterisation is spot-on. Amazing.

This story is my baby, so it makes me ridiculously happy to hear that readers out there enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. Charlie wasn't very remarkable to me in the books, but Billy Burke breathed such life into the character. How could anyone not love his Charlie? I write Charlie with Billy Burke's performance in mind. That you feel the characterization works is such a compliment to me. When I read a fanfic, it's the thing I am pickiest about; I'm so glad that my version of Charlie works for you! :)

Oh, and I also wanted to add... I think it was Esme who sent the picture, or at least the note. Just by what it said, and the way it was phrased, sounded more motherly. Also considering it was different handwriting (although, they could write differently if they put their minds to it.. then again, that doesn't really sound like any of the Cullens would do no matter what).

I seriously can't wait for Charlie to finally figure it all out! He's coming so close, yet so far at the same time. Lol! I'm wondering also if maybe the Cullen's are wanting him to know as well, maybe it's okay for him to know they're vampires; because that's where he's headed with that photo now... it's not just about the fact that yes, Bella is still alive, but more of how she's still alive. If they don't want him to know per se, maybe they're finally come to grips with the fact he's going to find out one way or another thanks to Billy's dying wish to him, that's why the ivasiveness with the PO Box and solid background information that's still in place, as well as they just sent a revealing picture with a note that sounded a bit reluctant to give him the information. Hmmm...
Loving these little flashbacks he's having! Ah Emmett, and the Denali's as well... Lol! Can't hold back! How did Emmett get the beer past Alice anyway, not only that one can but the whole cooler just for Charlie?
On to waiting for the next chapter..... don't wait too long!! :)

You read these stories like I do - always needing to stay one step ahead of the plot! :) I'm certainly not going to say anything about whether or not you're on the right track, but you've made some interesting points. Just going to leave it at that, dearie.
Oh, Emmett. After so long with Alice, he's got his ways. I like to think that between Seth at the wedding and making sure everything for the wedding was perfect, Alice was distracted enough to let some beer slide. You know he's going to pay for that choice, though!
Chapter six is already in almost completed in outline form. I'm hoping to post in a couple months. Thanks for taking the time to review...twice! ;)

I'm just REALLY glad you didn't abandon this fic! Really, I love it so much, and I got really excited when I saw there was a new chapter!
Anyway, I wonder if it was Alice who sent the picture. If it was her, i'm guessing it was to make Charlie think about something especific, or remember something about the wedding day. Or maybe she was hoping he was going to notice some little detail in the picture? Like the eye color! Or was it Bella who sent the picture? Maybe Charlie isn't recognising the writing in it because Bella's handwriting changed after she became a vampite.
And Poor Charlie, he didn't even get Sue! Of course she got weird, since she is also keeping a secret from him!
Also, I love the little bit about Kate and Charlie, and Alice keeping him away from them. Lol.
And what an exciting ending to the chapter, with Charlie finally understanding that there's a lot more to the Cullens then he ever thought and his decision to not give up on Bella.
I'm really looking forward to the next chapter, can I hope that it doesn't take as long as this one?!

Obviously, I'm not going to comment on how far or close you are to guessing who sent the picture, but it makes me so excited that you're as invested in the mystery as I am! Makes my day that someone took the time to try and figure out what's going on.
Between Charlie's grief and Sue's knowledge, they never had an opportunity to get close. I felt a little guilty for keeping them apart at first, but it's just the way it had to be. I threw him a bone, though, and let him have a moment with the lovely Kate. ;) It's one of my favorite little moments in the flashback.
No, chapter six will be along much, much faster. I'll never be one of those super authors who can get new chapters written and out within a couple weeks, but I'm hoping in the next couple months I'll have it ready to post. Thanks for sticking with me. I always look forward to your reviews! :)
