I think it's good Bella learned a little more about Edward's background, about wanting to fix things. She realized more about the nature of E's relationship with Tanya and why he was so devastated from that. I think she said exactly the right thing to help him to continue to move on. It was a good talk for both of them.

Now, as to payback...well, I'll just say that the night isn't over yet. They were both pretty tired, theyd been busy al day, plus last night was fraught with Edward's emo-ness and they didn't go to sleep until very late then. So let's let them take a quick nap, shall we? And then they'll be feeling a little more rested to perhaps explore further, ;)

"What the heck's going on in… Holy. Fucking. Shit." Jasper stood there with a look of utter disbelief on his face. He moved his mouth a few times and words finally came out. "Obviously I've interrupted something here, so I'm going to leave now and go find Alice. I apologize to you both, but I'm going to have to tell her what I saw, because I don't know how the hell else I'm going to wrap my mind around this… this …this event… this display I've walked in on. What is this? Never mind. I don't want to know." Jasper turned and walked out, muttering something about the youth of today.

 This was my favorite bit.  They had some HEAT!!!

Poor Jasper...he's been through a traumatic experience. ;) His brains are fried---due to the extremely high HEAT emanating from that shower stall and those two wet bodies that were wrapped around each other like ivy on an old building.

Jake really IS being an immature little shit.  They have grown apart.  She needs to move on.  It will be the only way to salvage any part of their friendship.

Jerk, I mean Jerkob, I mean Jakeass sure has his shit-encrusted moments, doesn't he? They've grown apart and aren't recognizing it. And because of that friendship they don't want to recognize it, but they have to move on so they don't lose the friendship aspect as well.

I am happy that he told Bella the truth about his past.  It helps her know him better.  The girlfriend of a friend of mine was bipolar and actually killed herself soem years ago.  When you mentioned her darkness a few chapters back it immediately reminded me of her.  How can Bella resist him now, knowing how vulnerable he is?  I hope she can't for long...

He feels safe enough to let her in, telling her about this painful part of his past. Not only did he tell her the facts about what happened, but he told her how it made him feel--letting her in even more. He's comfortable enough to confide in her. It's sad that this happens to young people. Teens go through enough angst as it is. Sorry to hear about your acquaintance. I've known students that have had to deal with this to varying degrees of success.

You are right, though, how can Bella resist him now? He has just made himself that much more appealing because of his vulnerability.

Ok, now I'm all atither. Why is Bella upset? God, don't leave me hanging BD. Is it something to do with Jake? Was the song Fix You? Sigh...

This chapter was great; I love the sentimentality of a family gathering. I don't have a big family, and the Cullens always make me feel warm inside. Aw.... I'm not gonna ramble on because I can't do it justice; I just hope these two are gonna be ok.. :(

I hate when I leave my readers atither. ;) Bella isn't angry-upset, she is sad-upset. It's a combination of the song, the edward in her arms, the additional information she has from this evening's banter with the family. It's just a combination that is hitting her pretty hard. And it has nothing to do with Jake...although we haven't seen the last of him . ;)

I'm glad you loved the chapter and the family gathering--I think it's important to show them as a tight knit group, to show the family's support of Edward and their hope that he has finally found his happy. I like showing the childish/childhood connection of Emmett, Alice and Edward. I don't have a big family either, so I like that big loving group thing.

Things will be okay. I think you may really like this next chapter. It's one of my favorites. But it does make me cry. ;)

Gah.  I feel really badly for Edward.  He is crazy for her.  He won't be able to keep that bottled up.  It will be torture for him to see her with Jake.  Bella needs to figure her feelings out.  Is she with Jake out of obligation?  She doesn't feel for him what she should be feeling.  SHe needs to cut him loose, it is only fair.  I think she will have a hard time being physical with Jake in front of Edward.  Her instincts will let her know how wrong the touch feels.

Edward is indeed getting frustrated--he IS crazy for her. the whole Jake weekend could be a potential nightmare for him. Bella isn't being fair to anybody, but she's in a hard position. It's easy for us to see what she needs to do, it's hard for her to acknowledge it because of her ties to Jake--things are alittle unusual in their situation, you know?

I think you have a crystal ball that you are looking into as you write your reviews. ;)
