Wow. I've been so anticipating this chapter and you did not disappoint. You could have gone over the top but instead you managed to make the characters multidimensional. Well done!

Author's Response:

Aww, thanks so much! I can't tell you how much that means to me! :-)

Reviewer: delilah69 (Signed) · Date: September 26, 2010 04:39 PM · On: Chapter 22

i think that if he couldn't have bella anymore he would try to make the guilt eat her alive and in the end she wouldn't be with edward but alone. because hes crazy! im glad hes dead though!

Author's Response:

Yes, it's difficult to predict what a crazy person will do, lol. But I think everyone is glad that he's dead. Thanks for your review!

holy crap it was Tanya!!!!! that was a total surprise cause she NEVER crossed my mind. and wow Edward killed her....that's not gonna go over well with the rest of the Denali's. I thought maybe Jasper would have been able to tell Tanya was lying and then the Cullen's would have come sooner, but i guess she was able to lie so well, Jazz never realized. awesome job on this chapter!

Author's Response:

Lol, yeah I don't think anyone thought of Tanya. Yeah, well the thing is that Jasper and the rest of the Cullens trusted her so that also makes it easier for them to fall for Tanya's lie. And Jasper was too focused on trying to calm the tension between the Cullens and the pack to notice that Tanya was lying. Thanks so much!

Dramatic update.  Tanya as the scorned vamp really met the end that she deserved and Jacob finally did something good - kill himself and save both the wolves and the Cullens from sustaining injuries.

It is good that Bella is safe now and I hope that the wolves realized their error in fighting the Cullens, as afterall, Jacob was wrong and broke the treaty hurting a human who they swore to protect.

Eager for more soon.

Author's Response:

The wolves didn't in any way agree with what Jacob did, but Sam felt that no matter what Jacob did, it wouldn't be morally right to kill him if there was another way of dealing with him (removing his shape-shifting ability and putting him on trial the human way). That was why he tried to stop Edward from killing Jacob.

Glad you're looking forward to reading more! Thanks so much for your review!

i think you did great with this chapter. the asshole died but edward isnt a murder! i love it!

Author's Response:

Aww, thanks! I'm soooo happy to hear it! :-)

I love that Jake killed himself at the end. I didn't expect it. His level of crazy was unparralled. Is that a word? hehe Anyway, I loved it. :)

Author's Response:

I'm sooo happy to hear that! it's true. a few people have said that they couldn't believe that Jacob would kill himself, but I think the point is that people who are mentally sick do things that don't make sense! Lol.

I'm very glad you enjoyed! Thanks so much for your review!

I am not disappointed at all.  I think you did a great job.  And Tanya came out of no where!  So yeah, nice chapter.  And I totally understand about grad school.  It takes a lot of time.  Good luck!

Author's Response:

I'm very relieved and happy to hear that! And thanks for the luck! I'll definitely need it! lol.

Great confrontation.  Soooo did not see Tanya coming!  Although I would have liked to see the story of her demise to be more graphic, it was just enough.

Thank you for clarifying Jacob's reasoning for the suicide.  While I was fairly confident this was not him being all noble to spare Bella any more pain or to see his fellow packbrothers get hurt, it's better to have the confirmation.

Soooo good.  Hopefully there can be a little lightness and levity now!  The kids have earned it.

Author's Response:

Thanks! I'm glad you felt it was enough in the end. There are quite a few people saying they would've liked to have read about when Edward killed Tanya. I did think of including it at one point, but then I thought that it would be better to leave it to the imagination of the reader :-)

Well, I'm glad that my note clarified it for you. Since I didn't write his suicide from Jacob's POV or Edward's I guess it was difficult for readers to be sure. Also, I found that because I was trying to keep the action going in this chapter, it was difficult to fully explain the reasoning behind the actions of the characters.

Thanks again! It really means a lot to me! And, yes, I won't be throwing anymore surprises. There will be happier times and fluffy stuff to come! :-)

Ooooh, you're so good!  I hope you'll take it at least through the honeymoon because Edward will still want to wait until they're married to be intimate with her and then we can follow her completely through her emotional healing so she'll be able to be with Edward physically.

Author's Response:

Aww, thanks! Yes, my plans follow along those lines. I'm glad to know you want to see this taken there! Thanks a million for your review!

Oh wow. This was SO gripping and I was DEVASTATED when Jacob took Bella away. I thought he might try to kill her and then Edward would have a horrid choice to make, you know?

Something to think about for the future, maybe...

You titled your story Mistaken Trust, and that's what this is all about. Unless the healing part of it also comes sadly under this heading, you MIGHT consider having a sequel instead of further chapters of this story, you know? Wrapping this up, looking to the future, with a sequel about Faith Renewed or something. *smile*  Hey you asked for input... ;-)

Riveting chapter, great action sequences, and this is one of the only times I can honestly say I'm glad for the demise of Jacob Black.

Author's Response:

Glad it was gripping and that you liked the action scenes :-)

Hmm, well that's something I never really thought of. It's a great suggestion. I'll have to give it some thought, but I'm leaning toward leaving it as one story because I did write in the story description that the focus was on the healing. I think I just got carried away with the suspense/action parts, lol. But I really appreciate the input. Thanks for that!

It was totally unexpected and awesome. I love it. Way to go.

LOL! "Burn you bitch" Nice Trysh!!!

Yes, my sentiments exactly. Thanks for killing off Tanya!!! ^_^

Author's Response:

LOL, yes, she has a good way with words!

Glad you're happy with that outcome!

Thanks for updating! I'm so happy the fight is over!!! Yay! Can't wait for the next chapter! *hugs*

Author's Response:

Aww, thank you! I'm glad it's over too! I think the best parts of the story are still yet to come! :-)

I love the surprise reveal that Tanya was involved with Jacob and the confrontation was freakin' awesome. I am kind of disappointed that Jacob killed himself while telling Bella that he loved her. I really wanted Edward to kill him and the Pack to let him in the end. Edward killing Tanya was not as important as the one who raped and terrorized his woman. I was surprised that the Pack would fight for Jacob vs. the Cullens after what they knew he did to her.

Author's Response:

Glad you liked it! Yes, I know some people are disappointed by that. But I felt it was the best way, not only because of the pack but there's another point that I don't think anyone has thought about. Charlie and Renee need closer as well. If Edward had killed Jacob, they would've had to get rid of all the evidence (including the body) because otherwise Edward would be charged with murder. So Charlie and Renee would never have gotten the closer in knowing that Jacob would never be able to hurt Bella again.

I also just wanted to mention that after reading some reviews, I added a note on the reasoning behind why Jacob killed himself. Since I know it wasn't there when you read the chapter, I'll just give it to you here:

**********************

I certainly didn't mean for it to come across that Jacob was sacrificing himself for Bella. He killed himself for selfish reasons. He saw that he wasn't going to get what he wanted. He was fairly certain that the Cullens would beat the pack and that Edward would torture him even more than he already had. So he took the easy way out--the cowardly way out. The part where he said 'I love you' to Bella was merely to emphasize how crazy he is (though I'm sure you've probably already got that point a while back, lol). And Edward DID punish him. He suffered at Edward's hands. Maybe it didn't seem that way because I'm not someone who can write overly graphic and gory scenes, but I tried to give hints. He was injured pretty badly by Edward.

***********************

I hope this clears up some things for you! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it!

OMG OMG O-M-G!!!...so emotional...so....intense...so...GAH!!! Burn you bitch BURN!! never ever saw that coming! Not in a million years! And I never woulda thought that Jacob would kill himself..although he is the ultimmate coward!!! Since you didn't leave us with a cliffie....i'm gonna understand that real life does have to happen :) Just please don't abandon the story!!!!!...OMG!!! That's all I can bloody say!

Author's Response:

LOL, your review really made me smile! There was a second when I first read this that I thought you were referring to me instead of Tanya. Ha ha. Glad you got the part about Jacob killing himself for selfish reasons. Don't worry, I'm not going to abandon the story there's still lots of stuff I want to write about with this. In fact, in some ways, the most important and best parts are still yet to come (in my opinion). However, unfortunately the updates will be coming pretty slowly because I really have to get moving with my thesis.

Thanks so much for your review. You have a really good way with words that always brightens my day! Thanks for that :-)

What to say first? How about, thank God Jacob is dead! Ifelt as clueless as Edward, not figuring that Tanya was mixed up in this. It sure was a case of everything falling into place. I always hate when things go right for the bad guys. It made me smile when Bella remembered Emmett's instructions and put them to very effective use. She is gaining strength every day, at least mentally and emotionally. She and Edward have a ways to go, but they are in a much better place than just a short time ago. The one puzzling part, for me, was where Jake got the guts to do himself in. I would not have credited him with that kind of a sense of justice. I always figured him as totally selfishand self-absorbed. Maybe I was wrong. Good luck with school and update when you can; I'll whine, but I'll wait. Oh look! I hit the wrong key! Oh well!

Author's Response:

Ha ha, yes, at least he's out of the picture now. Thanks for your comment on Bella's self defense move--I think it was a very key point! She has come a long way in a short period of time even though she and Edward do still have a ways to go.

It seems that some people misinterpreted what I was trying to get across with Jacob killing himself. Let me clarify this: He killed himself for selfish reasons. He saw that he wasn't going to get what he wanted. He was fairly certain that the Cullens would beat the pack and that Edward would torture him even more than he already had. So he took the easy way out. The cowardly way. That was how I meant for it to come across. Hopefully that makes sense to you now.

Lol, thanks for the luck! I'll need it!

So lovely to be able to read more of this stunning and well written story. Thanks for still managing to post while undertaking your masters. Keep at your masters, having it finished and all ready to hand in, and then handing it in is such an amazing feeling!

Author's Response:

Thanks for your kind words!

*sigh* I SO can't wait until I'm done my master's!

Yes, Charlie. You do bear some... responsibility isn't the right word, but it's close. Your constant emotional blackmail of Bella to try and force her to live the life you wanted only reinforced Jacob's feeling of "I have the RIGHT to Bella."

I know some reviewers have said "Jacob would NEVER do that! He would NEVER hurt Bella!" but they forgot how he treated Bella in Ec. He forced a kiss on her. He LAUGHED when she broke her hand and said that she brought it on herself. He said he would rather she was dead than with Edward.

SM has a few things to answer for, trying to make Jacob a heroic character.

Author's Response:

That's true. Charlie made a HUGE mistake pushing Jake on Bella.

I agree. The forced kiss in Eclipse really bothered me.

Thank you for NOT ending the story here. I'm so glad that this part of their story has been "resolved" but it is not happily ever after yet.  I want to see how they grow through this and watch as they get back to "normal" .  This was a powerful chapter.  Can't wait to read more!

Author's Response:

Yes, it's definitely not the end. In fact, I think that most of the best and most important parts are still to come! Focusing on how they heal through everything is what's most important to me, and believe it or not, it is suppose to be the main focus of the story. This chapter is a big turning point in the story, but they still have lots to work through. Thanks for your review!

I just thought I'd bring to your attention that I added a note at the end of the chapter because quite a few people misinterpreted why Jacob killed himself, so I added the note to explain things a bit. It wasn't there when you read the chapter but you can take a look at the endnote if you want to read it.

Wow.  Just wow.  Never saw the twist with Tanya happening.  Bitch.  Fantastically well written.  Looking forward to seeing how the aftermath plays out.  Really hope Sam and the pack don't attack Edward.  Jacob took such a cowardly way out as well.  Wonder how the Denali lot will take Tanya's betrayal and death at the hands of Edward.  Hmm ... interesting reading ahead, methinks.  I can't wait!

On a different note - good luck with finishing your experiments and the write up.  Have been there and done that - it's a stressful, horrific time, but such a relief once it's done.  It's a very good feeling.

Author's Response:

Ha ha, yeah I don't think anyone guessed it was her. Thanks so much! That means a lot. Don't worry, Sam and the pack won't be attacking Edward or the Cullens. Sam certainly didn't agree with what Jacob did. He only tried to stop Edward from killing him because he felt that since there was another way of dealing with him, it was the right thing to do. But now that Jacob killed himself, there's no need for the pack to fight with the Cullens. They DO understand why Edward did what he did. This will be touched on further in later chapters. I'm very happy that you got the point about Jacob taking the cowardly way out. It seems that quite a few people misinterpreted why he killed himself, so I added a note at the end of this chapter to explain things a bit. It wasn't there when you read the chapter but you can take a look at the endnote if you want to read it.

Thanks for the luck! I'll definitely need it. *sigh* I know, I'll be SO happy when it's over. Lol.

I am so very pleased with this chapter, and the fight scene, as well as Bella gaining the strength to fight for herself, and realize where everyone's motives were coming from.  You're very good, and again, this subject matter is so very difficult and to write about.  Thank you again for hanging there to finish this to it's conclusion!!

Author's Response:

I'm so happy to hear that! Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot to me.

Reviewer: AnnaWinters (Signed) · Date: September 26, 2010 11:58 AM · On: Chapter 22

It would be unlikely that they have good life further i mean after rape its not easy to get sexually active,

bella and rose have to grow more together, what will the denali do now?

What will bella do after what she saw ?

i mean it has to be a rough story!

i love it

Author's Response:

Yes, they still have a lot to work through before they can get to that point. That's why there's still lots more of the story to come! I'm very happy your enjoying. Thanks so much for your review!

Reviewer: Bkwrm (Signed) · Date: September 26, 2010 11:54 AM · On: Chapter 15

I'm in the minority, but I'm really annoyed with Rose; why did Bella have to be raped for her to pull the stick out of her ass?

Author's Response:

Lol, well I didn't really like how SM portrayed Rose as such a bitch, so I used this as an excuse to have her become closer to Bella.
