Interesting premise!  You're taking what Jacob did in the books to the extreme (I presume...), and it's plausible to me because I view his behavior in Eclipse as being assault and I HATED Charlie's reaction to Jake forcing his kisses on her.  So, really curious...

Yes, I did base things from the original Jacob's character and actions. But you're right--I'm taking it very much to the extreme. I strongly agree with your view on Jacob forcing kisses on Bella in Eclipse. It is very much an assault, and I was shocked by Charlie's reaction.

loved this chapter. i think it was my favorite so far. i really like that charlie is seeing edward differently now and that bella, edward, and charlie had a good time now that he is giving edward a chance. can't wait for more. question at the end sounds ominous, lol.

It is absolutely necessary for Edward to get the opportunity to give vent to his anger. Away from Bella.  He should take it out on some trees, a mountain lion, maybe even a BEAR. ;-)  Emmett would probably not fight with him on that one. This time.

Billy's denial surprised me but I was really glad that Charlie didn't support that but instead supported Edward.  I was UNsurprised to see Edward go near-caveman on Billy.  

Your ending there has me worried. What can happen with mulitple vampires watching out for Bella???

Why do I feel that something will? I so want Bella to be able to heal.

Yes, I guess it is a bit surprising, but I figure it would be difficult for him to believe his son could do something so horrible, at least initially. lol, yeah--overprotective Edward.

lol, sorry. I couldn't resist adding in that last line. But that's true--it should make you feel better that she has multiple vampires protecting her, right? Or maybe not. Guess you have to wait and see :-)

I always worry most when a character finishes a chapter thinking/saying "What could possibly go wrong?" - that's usually the point that we really don't want to give it a chance to find out.

After all his protectiveness, it seems out of character for Edward to go without at least Alice present to "guard/comfort" Bella, even if she's been asking him nicely to go... it just doesn't "feel right" that he'd go with all the possible risks. Charlie's presence isn't a valid defense against Jake.

Oh, I think maybe you misunderstood when you read the chapter. Edward certainly isn't leaving Bella with Charlie (he can't protect her). He is leaving her at his house with Alice, Rose, and Esme.
