Crying like a baby over here. I remember seeing my brother in ICU with tubes everywhere imaginable, it's heart breaking. And I'm glad they let Bella see him.

It is hard...I've spent time in the ICU with my hubby years ago and with a good friend before that...but thank goodness both had a happy ending.

Bella always thinking of others beside herself.  When she woke the second time Carlisle was with her.  Her first question was regarding Edward's condition.  She was told he was stable.  Her second concern was how Carlisle was doing. Carlisle asked what happened and she asked if she could tell everyone together one time rather than repeat the story over and over again.  She wanted to be with Edward for support and to make sure he was okay.  Edward had some extensive injuries.  Carlisle was able to arrange it.  Carlisle, Esme, and Charlie were outside the door in the hallway listening to Bella's account of the events.  Charlie told Bella he couldn't take the statement due to being family.  Conflict of interest.  She was holding Edward's hand while she gave the events from Edward picking her up at home.  She told him picnic in the meadow.  She left out intimate details.  She wondered how James knew to set the trap.  Officer Wesley said he believed James was following them.  Bella is hoping he didn't see them in the meadow.  She explained on the drive home they saw a woman stranded with her hood up.  Edward being the gentleman stopped to help her.  While he was out of the vehicle James  approached and beat him repeatedly with the pipe.  Bella's emotions kicked in periodically with sobs from her.  The thought of all the blood and injuries of Edward.  How she got his hockey stick out of the trunk and hit James in the back of the head.  While James was out cold, Bella talked to Edward and tried to drag him to the car to head for the hospital.  James awoke and Edward drove at James telling Bella to get to the car.  James grabbed Bella broke her leg/ankle.  To the conclusion of Edward hitting James over the head with the pipe and pinning his shoulder into the ground.  Bella considers Edward not only a hero, but her superhero.  It was hard for Bella to see Edward in ICU, but his being with her when she told the story gave her strength.  Esme hugged her and thanked her for her son.  Each one of them was a hero, a savior for the one they loved.  I can only imagine the pain of the parents listening to Bella's account of the events.  From each blow, kick, punch, slap, cracked bones, gravel scratches, etc... The visions those words created in their minds to see the damage and horror done to their children.  Charlie was so glad his little girl was still with him.  Bella asked her dad to postpone Renee's arrival until Edward was on the mend.  She couldn't deal with worrying about Edward and Renee.  Trying to calm her mother's hysterics.  Only curious what condition James wound up in.  Hopefully he's still in a coma as well.

oh my friggin goodness. *sniffs* that was just...i *really* need edward to make a full miraculous recovery--i didnt want his injuries to be that bad. that was touching. i hope her statement is enough to have james put away for the rest of his life!! and please let edward wake up next chapter...
