I, too, am thankful that Carlisle’s and Jasper’s thoughts of Esme and Alice were chaste. I have a feeling Emmett’s might not have been lol :)

Well, I am glad Edward realizes that Bella’s hands would be otherwise occupied in different ways now. And yes, it was stupid for him not to realize that. However, he is new at this :)

A natural disaster could rain down on the Cullens and Emmett would be joyful haha :)

I think I’d want to escape too if it meant I could get away from pitying thoughts! And how nice of Carlisle to conceal his with a lecture :)

I love the way you write Edward and Carlisle’s relationship!

I was wondering…if you are making the camping trip last 3 days, does that mean each chapter will focus on interaction with each of his brothers too (like this one did with Carlisle?) Sweet if it does :)

Your right, Emmett's thoughts had they been on his wife would not have been chaste. He was too pumped for the hunt though thankfully.

He is new at this. Very new. Plus this just gives me more fun things to write about. :)

Edward doesn't want pity from his family. There support yes, although, he isn't quite sure at this point how exactly they are suppose to support him other than being there to comfort him if something goes wrong. Carlisle knows Edward better than anyone, in some ways better than even Bella. He knew exactly why Edward needed to be alone.

The other interactions won't be as detailed, although hopefully realistic. There will be a private convo with Jasper though.

Ouch. Must be tough being an angsty vampire all the time. Poor Edward. He's pining for Bella! It just makes you smile such a sad smile....

The trip doesn't look like it's doing much to boost his spirit, he's still moping and thinking about sex... Only now he's an emo perv in Canada instead.

Poor Jasper aswell, he has to feel everything, such a stinger. Being an empath has such drawbacks.

And Emmett, awwwww Emmett! He want his grizzly bear! He's like an excited little kid in a playground! Go find the bear Emmett, go...!

Carlisle. He asked Carlisle to be his best man! Awww! And he was so happy about it! Awwwww! Awwwwwwwwwwwww!! I'm a sucker for sentimentel moments like that with Edward and Carlisle... Or really any of them!

Fantastic chapter! Can't wait for the next... and then the next... AND THEN THE NEXT! ...If I ever get to read it that is.

Bet you didn't think I was gonna review it for aaaaaaages, didn't ya? Oh ye of little faith... ;)

lol. You seem to have a lot of awww moments while reading my fic. ;)

And with only three weeks until he and Bella try to have sex nothing short of immediate harm to her could turn his thoughts to something else. Plus...Bella really did through him for a loop with her "wanting to touch him too."

Yes poor Jasper. I think in some ways being an empath is worse than a mindreader. People can hide their thoughts but to hide ones emotions is not so easy.

What can I say....Emmett is Emmett. :)

I should never have told you about chapter 15. *shakes head*

Thanks - great to see a new chapter! And, honestly, that last bit - where Edward asks Carlisle to be Best Man...it's a scene I've not seen anyone actually write and I've often wondered why. I always felt it would be a very emotional and private conversation and I was thrilled to see you include it.

That is interesting to know. I've been trying to include all/most of the set ups for BD in this and never thought of no one ever writing this convo before. You are right though it was a very emotional converstation for them. Carlisle really does think of Edward as his son and what father would not want to stand up beside his son when he is about to marry the woman he's going to spend his life with, or in this case his exsistence. :)

I love how you write Carlisle and Edward's relationship whenever you put them together. It's touching and it's how I would envision it after reading the books. Can't wait for the next chapter!

holly that is exactly why I decided to write this. I've read so many fics about Bella and Edward "testing his limits" and they just didn't work for me for the most part. They were not true imo to what their relationship boundries were at this point in the saga.

Hehehe, I love each and every one of these situations where Edward is forced out of his indestructible-vampire shell and turned into a shy, embarassed teenager. It is just all the more endearing and sweet. I think you got inside his head beautifully, I especially appreciated the part when he closes his eyes and tries to relax during the drive - such a human thing to do. I guess Bella isn't the only one who needs human moments.

The closer he gets to Bella the more "human" he becomes. Carlisle is a great example of that concept. He acts very human b/c he has surrounded himself with humans and interacted with them for so long. Edward held himself apart before Bella. She brings out both his strengths and his weaknesses.

IMO, Carlisle as a character is just as interesting as Edward. He is very complex and has been through a lot in his 400 years. Edward is his favorite son, which makes perfect sense to me considering the situation, and he's also more of a father to Edward than any of the others.

great chapter! you discribe the relationship and action between carlisle and edward so real and close to charakter! in most fics it is like this in the beginning but then you think that edward would never have said anything like this or that but in your fic it´s perfect! sry for my english - I´m German xD

I am trying to keep them in character while exploring something SM never did. I do agree with you on the other fics. I have read many myself that start out totally in character but end up with Edward being nothing like...well Edward.

Edward has always been in this possition, although this new obsticle with Bella is pushing that to the extreme. Bella has always been the greatest source of pleasure and torture for Edward. He can never let his gaurd down around her but he also feels like a part of him is missing when he isn't with her.

He does deserve happiness. Very much so. Edward is such an amazing man and his love and devotion to Bella is shown by what he is trying to do for her.
