Very good chapter! Glad they are starting to have open communication about sex! LOL :)  I feel I should stress again, that you are very talented and I appreciate your style of writing.  This is my fav. and the best story I have read that follows cannon pairings and the general mentality of Twilight; Im so happy you stay so true to it (possibly more true than SM did, lol).  Hope you have an enjoyable week and happy writing!

Gah!  Every time I read your chapters I am just stunned at how well the moments you write are captured and how well they capture the characters.  Also well done on this subject.  Way to capture the ackwardness between them.  Its very hard to convey when writing just how ackward discussing something like this can be.  Well done!  Amazing job on capturing edward again.  Thus far reading your story you have not jumped character once, and I know you are not always writing in a continuous block.  I can't stress enough how wonderful you portray him and bella.  Amazing job in accomplishing this!!  Not to mention loved how old fashioned edward automatically assumes that girls over the years haven't really changed in the sex department.  That sex isn't that high on the list for some girls as it is men.  HAHA.  Bella is his wake up call.  Another great chapter!!  can't wait to have the rest...

I love the way you're keeping this in canon.  And yes, Edward is behaving in a very Victorian fashion (my own grandparents were born in 1905, and both died in the late 1980s, so I have very clear memories of their behavior.

Actually, Edward's doing pretty well, all things considering.  My grandparents never showed the slightest display of affection for each other (no hand holding, no kissing, kept separate bedrooms).  I don't doubt that they loved each other, but it just wasn't done.   

Hopefully, Edward will eventually learn that sex is a natural and proper expression of marital love and that certain acts are not degrading unless the INTENT is to degrade the other person.  If it is done with love and a desire to give each other pleasure, it's not shameful at all.  Bella loves him.  She loves all of him and finds NO PART of him shameful or distasteful.

My grandparents were born around the same time and I know what you mean. They did sleep in the same room by the time I came around but it was in separate beds. Sex was only supposed to be for procreation. My mom doesn't remember her parents ever sharing a bed.

Well Edward does have quite a few examples of very sexually expressive marital unions which I'm sure, even if he won't admit it, will help. Most of what he's going through is uncertainty and fear. Since he can't read her mind, and doesn't want to cause her any harm or embarassement, he is being overly causious.

Not usual in this modern age, but still relevant for those of us who grew up in a different time, with different expectations and experiences.

lol. Well I think most of us were there at some point although ages differ. But Edward does have his Victorian senibilities no matter what his mind reading has exposed him to.

interesting so far.  i like the pace....some stories that talk about this just run right into the sexy stuff.....but thats not the reality....

Aw, this chapter was shorter than I had wished. I really like your story--I think it is one of the most realistic when it comes to the Canon. You are doing a great job, especially with Edward's awkwardness and uncertainty when it comes to sexuality.

Poor turn of the century Edward!  I wonder if Carlisle feels the same, or if he got over his inhibitions from contact with so many humans.  I like how Bella is so patient with him-lovely chapter!

I'm sure his contact with humans, plus his work at the hospital helped when he found Esme. As for now though, obviously he's been with Esme for years so I doubt  he feels that way now.

Bella is great with Edward. She's always been so patient with him, pushing him but still letting him set the pace.

Oh my!!Poor Edward was so shocked and embarrassed...that's the Edward we all love! His behaviour is connected to the times in which he was raised and well a 'few' things have changed from them!!

I agree with you, Bella and Edward did not have sex of any kind before their honeymoon and since your story is perfectly in cannon you rescpect this detail. That's one of the reasons why I appreciate your story so much!! *smiles*

I love the way you make them face this delicate issues...really funny and sweet the parts in which Bella exploits her charm to make Edward bring the book (he's surely dazzling but when she's determined to do something he'd better watch out!!) and the part in which she snatches the book from him when he tries to play dumb!! *grins*

For the pacing of the story...I think thet the best stories has great plot which requires its pace and its lenght, if there are many chapters I'll be really glad to read them so please update soon!!!

A lot about our character and attitude toward things are shaped by the time we're 13 so Edward's attitude is very must still Victorian in nature especially since he hasn't had a mate to change his opinon. Thing have sooo changed since then and you can see that drastic difference when he and Bella talk about sex.

lol. Bella so knows how to bend Edward to her will. ;)

There are still quite a few chapters left before the wedding and then of course the wedding itself, the plan rides and of course the big night. :)
