I was in the middle of reviewing and it just shut down! How frustrating...

As I was saying, I am not as depressed as I was. I see that there is hope, but it is such a mess. Sean is an ass and Rob will have to start over with the boys, at least with Zach. After everything Sarah has been through, how could this have happened? Why is Rob just drinking himself into oblivion? I hope things start to turn around in the next chapter.

There is hope! And you're right-there is also a long way to go. Rob really doesn't even begin to understand how to deal with what he did... this numbs his pain, for now, but as we all know, that can't solve the problem.

Auto-pilot -- excellent name for this chapter -- All women understand mom mode.

And why is Sean so upset about the boys?  He has had an endless parade of women since they split.  Me thinks he is just truly realizing what he let go.  Ass.  What makes him think he has a right to say anything at all.  He gave that right up when he let Sarah go.  Yes, you have written Sean too well.  He makes me MAD.

I knew the boys would not take this well.  But Sarah is making sure that they know that Rob broke up with her not them.  That he still loves them.  Good for Sarah.  She is such a wonderful mom.

And Sarah and Rob -- why is that they can talk to everyone else but the one they truly need to talk.  They both have such devoted friends.

So Rob is going to London -- Do you think you could fix it so that Sarah's boss needs her to fix things in London or Germany?   Perhaps a chance meeting in London?  I know it's wishful thinking on my part.  But, then again it's just location -- they just need to be in the same place long enough to work through things - work thru the maze to get to the other side - to each other.

My heart was in my throat the entire last part of this chapter.  Even fighting, they somehow find a way to comfort each other - sniff - sniff.  Kleenex stock just increased.

Great, great chapter.  Exceptionally written - emotionally charged.   And characters -- any author would be proud to claim.

Hey Les!

First, let me wish you a

     A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS  AND  A HAPPY NEW YEAR                              

Oh my! You've depleted my tissue supply by half yet again. Sarah, the boys, and Rob are all hurtin' so bad! And so am I! 

Little Daniel is so insightful for one so young. Although he's hurtin', he's concerned more for his mother. His heartbroken... "Did I... did I do something wrong?" broke my heart. It eems that that's the first reaction kids have at times like these!

Zach worries me. He so introspective, keepin' things inside instead of talkin' it out. Kinda like his mom! But I know he's hurtin' as bad as...if not more than...his brother!

Sean...gahhhh! Sometimes I want to pinch his head off, then he shows a bit of compassion before spoilin' it with another snide comment! And Sarah's boss, I'd like to give him a good swift kick in the gonads, so he'd get his head out of his ass! 

Love Tom and Julie's try at a small intervention. They love both Sarah and Rob and hate to see them hurtin' so bad, and are worried about them. They were right, Sar and Rob both walked away without talkin' it through and tryin' to come to some sort of compromise. Yay! Tom's gonna have a son...how cute is that! Julie, bless her will have two Sturridge boys to contend with! LOL

I'm glad that Sarah finally plucked it up and called Rob. She has the boys to distract her somewhat, Rob has nothin', really. I know that it hurt him when she told him about the boys.

It was good for her to finally tell him what she was thinkin' the passage from: "You have no idea what you've put me through. What you've put us through. While you've been drinking yourself under a table every night, I've been trying to put our lives back together. You didn't just break one heart when you left."

To: "I know you didn't," I say, resting my forehead in my hands. I didn't want to cause him more stress, but if I'm being honest, it feels good to start to tell him how he's made us all feel. "They'll be alright... so will you." and everythin' in between was beautifully written.

This:"I remember everything when it comes to you." And this: "I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." make me believe that yes, progress is bein' made. It may take a bit more time, but I believe in a HEA!

So, my sweet master story teller, please hurry up with MORE PLEASE, ASAP! I need to find that happy place again!

*passes more tissues* This was a hard chapter to write... the scene with the boys particularily. Still, in all of this there is progress, albeit small and not nearly as quickly as everyone would like, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Progress? Maybe. It seems two steps forward three steps back. I'm getting a little pissed with Rob to be honest. He really just needs to grows pair, man up, tell nick etal what he wants and why and then go out and get it. If that is Sarah then he needs to plan her into his life. Sarah also needs to plan Rob into her and the kids life. This could be arranging custody with Sean at a different level. I'm sure all of this you have thought about and you as the author can and should do as you wish. I'm glad that your writing moves me to have these emotions. That is good, right?? I remind myself to breathe when reading this.

Progress... it takes some time. I'm getting pissed with him, too! He isn't handling this at all the way he should... he's a work in progress, certainly not perfect... no one is. And you are absolutely right about Sarah needing to figure her life out as well and admit that she made mistakes in this relationship as well.

*sigh* Rob, Rob, Rob. Part of me feels sorry for him again. :) 

And Sarah - even though it's a total distraction, good for her for doing the 10K! Woo! Strong woman! Good that she's gotten the boys involved, too. I think it's probably good for all three of them to have something to focus on.  

And Sean... I'm not quite sure how I feel about him anymore! :) I think he wants to help, but then... he doesn't want to, if that makes sense. :)
