This is such a sweet story, only I wish Bella could tell Carlisle more of what's going on.. Keep the chapters coming, this is really good:D

Author's Response:

Oh, everyone wants her to tell Carlisle everything! Is no one but Bella concerned about turning him into a crack whore? *sigh* :-)

Glad you're enjoying the story so far - next chapter should be up soon. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Grrrr! This reading a fic as it's posted is FRUSTRATING!!!

This is not to say that I'm not enjoying it...I just need instant gratification.

I really like that Bella is messing with Carlisle a bit here and that he's giving it right back to her. I also appreciate that she's trying not create trouble in the space-time-continuum (sp?) like Marty McFly and hasn't revealed the future to Carlisle. BUT what does have me concerned is wondering will Bella inadvertantly alter the future in some way and keep Edward from becoming a vampire at all? Is she going to be stuck in 1918? Is this all a dream? How is her absence being explained back in present day?

Sorry for my ramblings...I'm enjoying your story!

Author's Response:

LOL! I know what you mean about waiting for updates. I keep saying I'm not going to start any more fics unless their finished... but then I just get roped in! :-)

Glad you're enjoying the story so far. Your questions are all really good ones - and I promise Bella will deal with all of them in coming chapters... we'll just have to wait and see how it all turns out! :-)

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I mean, I saw The Butterfly Effect.  Ashton Kutcher made one little change in the timeline and Amy Smart went from Sorority Girl to Crack Whore.

I didn’t want to turn Carlisle into a Crack Whore.

LOL

The best line ever!!! I can even see it now...

keep up the good work. Will Bella meet up with the masons now?

Author's Response:

Soon... very soon, I promise! :-)

Thanks for reading - glad you're enjoying the story so far.

Is Edward next?  Ahhhhh!  Please let him be next!

Author's Response:

Maybe... *coy smile*

I promise - he's coming soon... just be patient! :-) Thanks for reading!

Reviewer: airekel (Signed) · Date: March 21, 2010 06:24 PM · On: Chapter 4: Of Finding a Job and Formulating a Plan

Thanks for another awesome chapter!  You really do have a way with words and with telling a story!  I love it all!

I love that Maggie thinks Bella has something going on with Carlisle -- even though Maggie didn't say anything when she found out that Bella was going to be working at the hospital at night when Carlisle works.  I laughed when Bella thought, "Eeww. I mean, I liked Carlisle, but he was like ... Edward's dad ... gross!"

I loved the analogy that Bella gave Carlisle when he wanted information about how she knew him and what she knew about him.  Although at some point, I think that she is going to have to tell him at least some part of the truth.  All I could think of when she got the job at the hospital was that when Edward gets sick, Bella will be there, and make sure that Carlisle changes him.  Though, of course, I don't want that to happen for a while.  And it's just speculation -- it might not happen at all.

I laughed out loud when Bella did, when Mr. Jackson asked if Carlisle hunted.  And I laughed when Carlisle messed with Bella.  :)  You write so well!

I love that Bella now has Edward's address, and I can hardly wait for her to find him.  I hope he will fall in love with her, just like he did a hundred years later.  For Edward, it would be great if that happened, and Bella never returned to the future, so he would never have to be alone.  But, I think the best I can hope for, is that because of Bella's time in 1918, Edward in the future develops new memories of her, and comes back to her when she has to go back.  I'm pretty sure I've said that before, and, of course, it's just a wish.  However, if in 1918 or a hundred years later, Edward and Bella can end up together, I will be a happy camper.

I am really loving this story.  Thanks again for another wonderful chapter.  I can hardly wait until you post the next one!  :)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your wonderful and well-thought out review! :-) I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far. I love all your theories, but of course, I can neither confirm nor deny... :-) LoL!

Next chapter should be up soon - hope you like it!

I love Carlisle! I always like his and Bella's relationship in the books and it seems you have been able to capture that even though the setting is different!

Author's Response:

Carlisle is one of my favorite characters - I'm glad you're enjoying his and Bella's interactions. I'm having fun writing it! :-)

Thanks for reading!

I love stories where Bella pursues Edward! Can't wait to see what happens - does history repeat itself or do they fall in love as humans?

Author's Response:

Well, we'll just have to wait and see, won't we? :-)

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

I love how you are portraying Chicago from the early 1900's; I imagine it's pretty difficult.

Carlisle and Bella's interactions seriouly crack me up but I'm noticing that Bella is just barely OOC, is that on purpose?  She seems more care-free and confidant.

I really hope Edward appears soon...like, in the next chapter.  I can't wait to see him as a human.

Keep it up, I'm really loving this story.

-Elise Nicole

Author's Response:

Yes, my Bella is a little OOC - very insightful! :-) My idea is this: when Edward left after her birthday, this Bella didn't do the whole sitting around for months (the pages with only the name of the month on them in NM). Sure, she was broken, but she was also angry. As she said earlier in the story, she knew he was lying and left to protect her... but that ticked her off instead of just depressing her. As a result, she didn't go the whole riding motorcyles/jumping off cliffs route... instead she went on with her life as best as she could - more of a pro-active Bella than a passive one. And when the spirit walk opportunity came up, she saw it as a way of either finding Edward herself, or getting over him. Hope that makes some sense.

As for Edward... he's coming... just be patient! :-)

Thanks for your review!

Oh God, you are so clever!  I love this bit about Maggie thinking Carlisle is interested in Bella!  It makes such a creative and interesting sub-plot (sidetract, whatever!)

And income tax withholding?!  You do think of (and research) everything!  LOL!

Like, how'd you come up with the injured hunting guy?!  How does the idea formulate?!  It was the perfect lead-in to Carlisle hunting, and Bella letting him know that she was aware of his practices.

I hate it when I get to the "Chapter End Notes" line!  :-D  I want the story to go on all night!

Author's Response:

Wow - thanks so much for your lovely review! :-) I'm glad you're enjoying the familiar characters, as well as the new ones, like Maggie.

Research! Lol! If I had an idea of the kinds of things I'd have to research, I might have opted for a present-day story! Lol! Let's just say I spend quite a bit of time on the internet recently trying to learn about how women in 1918 dealt with their periods... Yeah, that's coming soon - 'nuff said! :-)

I have buckets of anticipation hanging from my hands just waiting for your next update.  Hoping our green eyed Edward will make his most memorable appearance?  Can't wait...

Author's Response:

Oh I think all of Edward's appearances are memorable, don't you? *sigh* Glad you're enjoying the story so far... next update will be up soon! Thanks for reading!

Reviewer: GoSpikey (Signed) · Date: March 21, 2010 02:19 PM · On: Chapter 4: Of Finding a Job and Formulating a Plan

Hey again,

I received your reply to my FF review, and thought I'd say something further over here, since I don't think you can reply to one chapter twice over there.

That 'double loop' I was talking about? I think I meant that as Bella and Edward either living together as humans, or as vampires starting from 1918, if you get what I mean. They'd be together since then (considering this is actually a time travel thing, not a hallucination, of course).

Loop 1: Edward stays alone, meets Bella in Forks, leaves her, makes her time travel and have her start:

Loop 2: Bella arrives in 1918, meets Edward, stays with him (human or vamp), Forks doesn't happen, Bella doesn't travel through time but lives out her life, which means Loop 2 won't happen again, and we fall back in Loop 1.

I think...

Does that make sense? I sure hope so...

Anyway, I thought I'd just add this to have you know some people are thinking about all this.

Can't wait to see Edward again, though perhaps it's a repeat from the opener? Well, that's good. I'd like to reread it. :P

See ya soon, I hope.

Spikey

Author's Response:

Hi again! :-)

Yes, what you said makes sense... but you don't really think I'm going to tell you if that's what's going to happen do you? Lol! :-)

Seriously, I'm so excited that you're enjoying the story enough to come up with such great theories! Thanks so much!

Next update is coming soon... and Edward is on the way, I promise! Just be patient! :-)

Thank you! :-)

Again I am blown away with this story. How long do you intend for this to be? I would hate for it to be short. Too many stories that follow this line end in the teens or early twenties. The begining strong, then everything rushed and compacted at the end. I can't wait till the next chapter comes out. I really hope that you don't give up on it. It's wonderful, really.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reading - and reviewing each chapter! :-) How long? Just not sure at the moment. I've outlined the whole story, but how many chapters I couldn't tell you right now. I will say that things are just getting started - I know where we're going, but I'm just not sure how long it will take to get there!

I loved the statement that she kicks ass at hallucinations! So far so good. Can't wait to see what happens next. Great job.

Um... Wow! I couldn't help but laugh at some things in this chapter, mainly Jake's 'vision', but ending with chills up and down my spine. I could feel my heart beat quicken with your words. Excellent job.

Questions. What is happening in real time? Is Bella a missing person? Does Carlisle "remember" Bella from the past? And Do Esme, Rose, and Emmett get changed?

Author's Response:

All good questions... unfortunately, I can't answer any of them yet. Well... actually I could... I just won't! LoL! Don't want to ruin it for you, but rest assured all of these questions will be answered at some point in the future.
