Wait, wasn't James a vampire in this timeperiod since...you know...he was hunting Alice.

Alice was changed at 18 and she was born around the same time Edward was.

According to canon (Twilight, Ch. 22), Alice was changed in the 1920s... no specific date was given. So it's POSSIBLE that James could still be human at this point in time.

How the hell did I forget Carlisle was out of town too?  Do you see what you've done to my brain?  Oy, the possibilities!!!  I forgot about the yummy make out with Edward and coffee ect because right b4 James introduced himself it was like that moment in a movie when the music changes (and not to a waltz, lol) but it changes and you know the shits gonna hit the fan.  Like in jaws b4 the shark come, duh nu, duh nu, dun nu, boom, ---crap+fan=James.

so now i'm wondering what is going on in the present.  Will Ed call home and Jasper tell him his beloved sister Alice has vanished? 

I need a coffee and thank goodness I have whipped cream in a can.  Although wisking it by hand probably burns the calories up. hmm, don't care :)

“Wait a second,” she said accusingly. “You got that from Stargate, didn’t you?”

My beloved Stargate... How I miss you. I don't watch SGU before the SGA movie comes out (never). I want Todd well-fed and back in Pegasus...

 

“You know, that Dr. Jackson is pretty hot. He kind of reminds me of Jasper.”

“Are you okay?” I hissed, scrambling to get up and kneeing Edward in the groin. He moaned, but this one was definitely not in pleasure.

 

Out of all the Edwards... This one didn't deserve that. We, or I, should make a list of all the Edwards that do, and then dedictate it to them. :-D

OMG... Carlisle... Boy's going out of control a little bit. But as I said on the forum, you need a bit of time to work up to such a conversation, find a way to say things without hurting the other and such, but it had better not be much longer. Poor Edward gets things said about him that he doesn't deserve to have said about him.

 

Perhaps Bella should mention her reaction to it was a kneed groin... No, better not.

“Mrs. Masen?” She stopped, and I stepped up to her. “Have you… uh… heard how Edward did today at the meet?”

 

*starts to wonder if Bella's hickey is gone yet*

 

Because I do assume the dresses are not high-collared? *grin*

 

The meaningful look, is Edward trying to make it back in time? No idea any more how far away the meet was.

 

“I’ll just go,” I whispered, moving toward the edge of the floor, but the orchestra leader called out.

“Please do not leave the dance floor,” he scolded.

But then you might piss him off, and he'll kill you... Oh boy... What to do? Carlisle's gone, right? Only Alice is there, and no Edward... Oh boy...

So, I never thought James was that young. But we don't know for sure, right? Laurent was 300+, as he said he'd never seen anything like that in 300 years. Oh boy... Ya know, if the future is still the future, and this is indeed the past, James is going to find it odd that he keeps on seeing the same people popping up wherever he goes. *grin* Of course, it could be that he can't remember them at all after he's turned... If he's not sick yet, he might not focus on them and we're worrying for nothing. But if he is, and the baseball scene is still happening, he's extra joyous that he sees them yet again. Alice for the third time at least (now, in 1920, and anno 2000, unless it's 4 and he kills her now, too), and Bella 2 or 3 times for the same reason. But then again, he can't strike just yet, they'd have to be alone on foot at night for him to strike, so will he follow them around? They should have Carlisle as a body guard, really...

 

Need to see the forum. Will try to come. I want to see what Amy thinks. :-D

Excellent chap as usual. :D Just out of curiousity, how do you conduct your research on this time period? I love history so it's cool to see the early 1900's come to life in your story. I could picture the Grand March in my head and it was beautiful. That time period is so elegant. <3

Yes, the slow burn is killing me , but if there is one thing that I'm learning, it's patience! I really enjoy this story. I did decide to wait untill you had finished writing it, but then you posted the next chapter and I couldn't wait to read it, so that plan didn't work!

My thoughts:

Bella, just marry Edward. Tomorrow, this afternoon. Whatever. Just do it. then go off together somewhere and live happily ever after.

And for the love of God, tell Carlisle. Tell him he won't be lonely for much longer. Tell him one day he'll have a family. Make him happy.

Don't know what to suggest about Alice. She has thrown me for a loop! But she and Maggie should set up Starbucks before anyone else does!

And as for James? just one more reason to grab Edward and get out of Dodge. (As if you need a reason to grab Edward!)

Carlisle is wonderful as always. I really like your Carlisle. Especially that whole "secret" part. I just love the way you Bella keeps hinting about his secret.
