I feel bad for Edward being left out of everything. I know he is not especially happy. Thankfully he is more comfortable in Carlisles presence. The question is, is that a good thing or not. He's either used to him now, or something in him is changing.

:) Didn't Bella put on her big girl britches and take care of her man in that whole scene with Billy. So proud of her!
Edward was understandably nervous, as was Carlisle and the rest of the family; but thankfully they can see that her judgement whilst risky was a good call :)
Nothing beats the fact that Edward has been released from the binds of the treaty and can now stay by Bella's side.

I have to say that the argument at the begining was amazing. "Dear God woman, please, just pull over" and "I don't wish to have to explain to her that you seem to have lost your mind" were brilliant. This is the most in character Edward I have ever read, you did a great job.
she relented on the car, I'm so happy. Another fabulous chapter.

Author's Response: I seem to recall in Twilight she used to go to bed virtually fully clothed... Obviously not doing so would have been far too debauched. LOL!

Author's Response: It is, but you might notice that it isn't out loud very often....
Edward is a bit OOC at this point, he does become more Edwardly as time moves on.

wait, wait, wait. I just thought......... during bella's b'day, waht if edward heard jasper's mind like he did in new moon, and then he, like, steps in front of her and changes into a vamp? again problem with the werewolves and i think the cullens would have to go, cuz you know jasper is a cullen and he bit a human? hmm.. but what if they put forth a point that eward was not exactly human? but then, the werewolves shouldn't have a prb with edward changing cuz they believed him not to be a real human. damn, that's confusing like hell. great chapter, seriously awesome. can't wait for you to update

I hate cliffies! They get you all riled up and nothing seems to get you settled back down. Like, all during this chapter I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Argh! Edward's not the only one that's a bundle of nerves!
I sure do hope the next chapter is a bit lighter. If not, I'm going to have to reread Chapter 17. Maybe while I eat pancakes...

The next chapter is a POV we've not had before, and he never fails to lighten things up a bit ;).
The wolves themselves have accepted Edward as human, the question really is, has Edward?

Well, that definitely went better than I thought! Though, I have to wonder how Edward's long experience at being a good liar, actor, and controller of emotions seems to be leaving his psyche. Bella is definitely pulling all the tricks lately!
Author's Response: It's still less than 2 weeks since Edward became human again, he's come a long way, but he's still adjusting. As time moves on, he is likely to become more Edwardly.....

Bella's plan to prove to Billy that Edward was human. No longer vampire. She knew her dad was there so she drove fast to reach the La Push treaty line. She wasn't going to stop for anyone. Based on Edward's appetite with pizza and Charlie's comments about how much teenage boys eat. Plus when he cut his thumb on the soda can and bleed. Billy squeezed it and touch his skin. Warm. Plus Sam was outside and didn't smell vampire. So Edward is an exception for the Cullens in the treaty. Bella's truck died with her pushing the speed. They had to drive home with Charlie in the cruiser. Edward was in back seat with the bars. Edward met Alice in backyard. Alice confirmed Edward can travel wherever he wants to go. Edward asked Bella to quit her job. He has enough money to last. Bella agreed to let Edward buy her a reasonable car for her birthday. Edward is plotting other things to give her. Always has to push the envelope with Bella. She agreed to one but he lavish on her.

I so wanted to smack Bella for that little stunt! She could have gotten Edward killed. I also wanted to laugh my butt off at Billy. He was so suprised that Edward was warm. Excellant chapter! Now, what car will he buy Bella?
