Finally being told/shown Edward is human is such a surprise but definitely makes more sense looking back on everything so far. I really like Bella's patience and can't wait to find out what Edward went through.

Such a great chapter and wonderful story, albit a bit sad as to what had happened to Edward to make him the way he is. Hopefully Bella's friendship will bring him out of himself a bit.

I'm finally getting around to reading all the updates in my mailbox since I've been away.

This story has me intrigued, no question about that and I can't wait to read the next chapter. She's pretty brave isn't she, a force to be reckoned with I'm guessing. :)

MARCUS!!! Wow. YES, that surprised me a lot.  Nice characterization of him, here.

Edward's available backstory seemed rushed. As if Marcus had to blurt it out, as much as he could right then, in a couple of breaths before heading out.  I think it's interesting that he told Bella that Edward chose her.

 

AND I think it's really wonderful that Marcus took care of Edward in his own way without even knowing the lad's name. VERY cool of him.

Yes, I think it being Marcus surprised a lot of people. Lol.

As far as Edward's available background, it wasn't my intention to make it seem rushed, but what Marcus spoke is all Marcus knows. You have to figure, Marcus is a loner; he keeps to himself. So the idea of him being really chatty, it's not who he is, and even though he's been responsible for taking care of Edward for the last 7 years, he knows nothing about him. Edward doesn't speak to Marcus, doesn't reach out to him like he's done Bella. But something, a feeling, about Edward told Marcus he needed him, so for the first time in Marcus's life, he listened to that feeling.

Now, his choice of words, referring to Edward choosing Bella, that stems from the fact that Marcus has never heard Edward speak, never seen any inclination he wanted to reach out to someone. And here is this girl, who Edward speaks to, telling her his name. He can only assume that there's a reason for it, that Edward chose her to speak to for a reason. So, if she's what pulls him out of the dark, then Marcus is willing to step aside and let her. Helping Edward is all that matters.

I've been pretty vague for a reason, but I promise this will be discussed in better detail soon. It just takes time.

Drama!! is it Carlisle?? He was a bit fishy at the hospital. gosh I hope he's not a baddy. I love the words you use and how you use them sovreign and riven come to mind. Little surprises. I  collect words. I have a little book and these are going in.
