Can't wait to see what Edward's response to Bella is, knowing a part of him does remember her! Love your story!

What don't I like - that it isn't at least twice as long! You know that you have to update really soon, the suspense will kill me otherwise.
What I do like - I am happy that the family have him back and that Bella is with him, even if he isn't quite as he was before.
Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author's Response: I knew that the ending of this chapter would frustrate you. Sorry, I'm not doing it on purpose. I love that you review each chapter. It is so nice to see that I have a loyal reader. Keep reviewing. Don't let the frustration kill your reviewing spirit. I'm giving you little clues in each chapter. I gave you a little in Patient Zero and more in The Great Escape. Did you catch them?

Very good but very depressing. I've read TONS of stories about Edward going on thinking Bella was deaad but this is the other way around.
I'm curious now and will continue reading to see what happens.
I like it so far. ;)
Author's Response: Thank you so much. This the first fictional story I've written EVER. I've written a lot of essays, but never anything remotely like this.

Now I'm really curious! He's not human, nor vampire? What the heck is he? Can he go back to being a vampire? What happened to him? What caused all those marks on him? You're making me insane. I hope you know that.
Author's Response: Thanks. Insanity is what I was aiming for :D
The next chapter is almost ready. I'm just leaving it a few days in my head to brew before putting it up.

Yes, post faster! I want to know if Edward is human and how he got that way. I want to know what happened to him 3 years ago because nothing but death would keep him from Bella. Come on now! You're killing me here!
I still am struggling with the thought that both Jacob AND the Cullens gave up and didn't try to keep Bella in their lives. That seems unlikely.
Author's Response: My thoughts were that Bella was the one who refused to talk to them not the other way around. She was so angry after Edward's supposed death that she wouldn't talk to any of them. I think that I could have given a little more backstory there. Maybe if I had talked about their attempts to contact her, then it would have been more believable.

Okay, this is incredible, but I can't get past the little boy Edward left in the street. As a mother with young children (3 and 4), reading that just feels like a knife in my heart. I know it's fiction, but the flu pandemic was not and it's very likely that things like that really happened. And why didn't Edward help him? I understand he was thinking of his mom, but...how could he? Couldn't he have left the child his jacket? Gone and fetched a police officer or a doctor? Gah!
So now I'm sitting here crying over a fictional little boy with teddy bear pajamas that was left alone and sick in a cold street. Clearly, you're an incredibly talented storyteller...but I'm.....I just can't read anymore right now. Maybe in a couple of days....
Author's Response: I'm so hapy that you like my story. It is my first, so all of your responses are awesome. Yeah, the little boy made me tear up too. I wanted to have an image that really showed the devastation of the flu. I read a lot of first hand accounts of this time period and things like this really did happen. I didn't find the example of the little boy in the books I read, but I found similar stories. Really depressing...
Keep reading though it won't stay this depressing ;)
I think that Edward was different back then. He had only been living for 17 years, so his reactions wouldn't be the same. His fear got the better of him. Not admirable, but understandable I think.

Interesting turn of events, certainly, but one question. Is there Medicaid in Vancouver, Canada? I thought that was just a US government agency.
Author's Response: I don't know. I'm Canadian and there is a new system set up that is supposed to reduce the numbers of people waiting in emergency rooms. People can call and give their symptoms and the on call nurse will tell them whether it is serious enough to go to the hospital. I think it has the same name.

Nice chapter! I was so afraid when Edward woke, or started to wake, he would ask for Jane! Oh no! But so far, he hasn't. It would makes sense since she is who was taking care of him but I know it would knock Bella on her butt. What could have turned Edward back to a human? It'll be interesting to see! Nice writing! joan
Author's Response: I have given you some clues in Paitent Zero and the Great Escape. Did you catch any of them? Thanks for being a loyal reviewer!

This was a great recap of what Edward went through back then... with 2 exceptions. 1) Your timeline is off a bit. Edward wasn't changed by Carlisle for almost 3 more weeks and 2) Carlisle would have never bitten Edward and started the change with Edward still in the hospital. He would take him somewhere more private first. How to explain all the screaming as Edward burned?
Author's Response: I never even thought about the screaming... He was in a ward with 30 or 40 people that would have been too noticeable. Yeah, I get your meaning. Thanks for pointing it out. I didn't know that he didn't change Edward for three more weeks. Did you read that in Twilight?
Thanks for the reviews by the way.

She's with Aidin, planning a vacay with him and her friend (talk about a 3rd wheel!) and she still remembers Alice's #. OK... Now what's up after all this time?

Boy this is hard! You want Bella to love Edward forever. You want her to move on. You want her to find a way to be with Edward even if he's no longer of this world. You want her to stay alive for her parents and friends! Aaahhhh.

At first I wasn't going to continue this fic, after this first chapter. Just the THOUGHT of Edward being dead makes me tear up. I can't read fics like that, I just can't, but I confess you've got 8 chapters up right now and I looked ahead a little. You've given me hope that things will work out so I'll continue reading. I also hope you get more reviewers because you really should have more with a well written tale like this one. I'll rec it to a few people and see if that helps!
Author's Response: This is the first fictional story that I have written EVER. I was surprised at first that people were reviewing at all. So, thanks for recommending me to other people. The reviews are really fueling my creative fire.

Almost reminds me of what Edward did in Twilight near the end, the whole "Bella, I love you. I'm here" thing.
