Beautiful, and sad and comforting all at the same time. I loved the interaction with Bella and Billy. She needed to hear that she had to let Charlie go, and only Billy could do that.
I couldn't help reviewing. You do such a wonderful job that you deserve the praise at every opportunity.

That was beautifully written. Your description of charlie's passing was wonderful. Although it was a sad moment, the way you described it gave it a sense of hope and peace. Oh my gosh! I wish you could see my face! I haven't cred this much over a fan-fiction in a long time. I am partly glad that he has finally died just because he won't be in pain anymore. Great chapter, very heartfelt. Update soon!

I wish I had the words to tell you how amazing an author you are but sadly I don't. I think your brave to put out a story that you know from the beginning is going to be hard to write and hard to read. You have such amazing strength and courage.
Thank you for writing Charlie's passing the way you did. When my Nana was sick we all said our goodbyes but it was my Uncle that she held on for and he too had to tell her it was ok to go. In a strange way it helped bring a sense of peace to us....her love for us and her strength were there until the end.
I hope in your experience that you had the same support that Bella has in this story. I know that if you showed your father half the love that Bella has shown Charlie in this story then your father knew he was a very blessed and a very loved man.
Author's Response: I am so touched by your review, so thank you. My dad had his own set of "guys" that were much like Billy/Sam/Paul/Josh in this story and I did have my "Edward" - he wasn't the nurse but he stood by me the whole way through. My Alice was/is my real sister and I am so thankful to have her because we understand what the other went through like no one else. The experience of my father's passing was very much like what I wrote in this story - as are all the things I write about. Your words are beautiful, too! Believe me!

I don't even know what to say. It's 7 am here in MN and I'm all teary eyed.
I think you got it right - the mindset of watching someone pass. it's not fake, it's not overly dramatic like some people in the fandom write. It's real. It's honest. It's gritty, becuase that's how life is.
It was a beautiful way to say goodbye to him. And since this is based on your experiences, my condolences to you. I imagine, though, that this has to be somewhat therapeutic for you.
Either way, I really enjoyed/am enjoying this story. Hopefully Bella can move on when it's right for her and hopefully make something with Edward. He's more than a friend to her, even if they're both too stubborn to see it.

I actually woke up shaking and in tears right before I wrote this; it was a physical experience for me but now I feel very relieved to have put it out there. I'm glad Alice was able to come and visit and the 'Charlie' dress was a lovely touch. I really like getting updates for this story but at the same time I almost don't want to keep reading because I know what's coming. When Charlie woke up near the end of the chapter and spoke to Bella I thought it might be his time. Great chapter!

You are breaking my heart here! I dread each update, but that is a compliment. I am torn. I look forward to reading the updates, but dread the feelings they bring out. Why do I feel that is the last time Charlie will be "alert"? I have a bad feeling that he will pass while Bella is asleep. I hope I am wrong. If he does I hope it is peaceful for him.

Charlie's descent into the clutches of this awful disorder make me want to cry for every last person who has suffered from the effects of this illness. It sounds like you were a vital part of your own Dad's support network, but I hope you had an 'Edward' during this time.
Back to the story...loving it and like Lostluggage's 'Need to Escape', I am so emotionally invested in this story that I feel like it's every birthday come at once whenever there's a chapter update. I read them with trepidation, knowing that there's going to be heartbreak but feeling like I can't live without reading it.
Author's Response: I did have an "Edward" he wasn't the nurse, but he's now my hubby. Thank you for loving my story, reading it, reviewing it - it makes my day.
And yes, ALS (along with MS, Parkinson's and MD, not to mention cancer) are horrible and awful.
