Reviews For Somebody to Love

How does any straight guy go that far with his girlfriend and manage to be the one who pulls away? Never mind Carlisle's self-control, the human just beat him in that area!

Author's Response:

Yes, I bow to my friend and her crazily-in-control-of-himself boyfriend because I could never get that close and then say "No". I would agree that the human wins after you add in stealth points, though! (My friend's mom was awake in the next room!) But you also have to keep in mind that Carlisle forced himself to resist Esme's body while also resisting her blood!!! It really goes either way depending on your grading system! Thank you for your review!

Thank you!

Though I knew Carlisle's self-control would kick in - I couldn't help but wish it wouldn't.

Also Esme's dream was a interesting way to give us a insight into her mind on issues such as the whole 'vampires can't have children' issue.

Also random question: since we're following BxE on the whole 'sex as a human thing' will we also have a hybrid plot line?

Author's Response:

Carlisle has very annoying levels of self-control! His is even better than Edward's. With Esme's dream, I wanted to separate out the reason behind "the whole sex as a human thing". Bella was worried about not wanting Edward the same way. Esme is still clinging to the hope that she'll get a second chance at having a baby. She knows vampires can't get pregnant, but somewhere deep in her subconscious she hopes a vampire can get a human pregnant (which is another reason for the dream). It's not a thought she allows into her conscious mind, though! As for the hybrid plot line: I will neither confirm, nor deny, that this could possibly be my plan. I'm far enough from Carlisle and Esme's wedding that it could still go either way. My ideas sway to inspiration's whim. Thank you for your reviews, and all of the other lovely reviews I've gotten from you! And after the day I had yesterday, I really needed something like this! Thank you!

I can't wait to find out what happens next :)

Author's Response:

To tell the truth, me either! I'm updating as soon as I finish this response, and after I add chapter 20 to the queue I'll be reading chapter 66 of your Carlisle and Esme story!

Reviewer: Daylen (Signed) · Date: March 10, 2011 07:10 AM · On: An Army of Our Own

eh it may have taken a while, but real life does that... and disobedient muse's ;)

It's good to see the Cullens gaining support :)

Author's Response:

Thank you! Disobedient muses aren't very helpful, but the Cullens will have their army.

Reviewer: Illyra (Signed) · Date: March 09, 2011 11:13 PM · On: An Army of Our Own

Ha! Carlisle is more respected in the vampire community than Heidi anticipated. Great chapter!

Author's Response:

After 3 1/2 centuries of being a good man, he should be! Thank you. I wanted to give the Cullens some good backing (and I'm a sucker for happy endings, so I wanted to bring Garrett and Kate together quickly!)!

How exciting! Thanks for your message which popped into my inbox today. Yes its still really bad in christchurch and will never be the same. Aftershocks still happening and today there was a civil defense warning not to go near any trees as the liquifaction has rendered the soil unstable and huge trees are starting to fall. Christchurch is called the Garden City due to all the trees so this really isnt good. Thanks for posting this well written chapter :)

Author's Response:

Thank you for your review. Yikes, falling trees! My house is surround by at least two miles of dense woods, so I can see how that's bad. Hopefully, the ground will be able to firm up again soon. Stay safe!

Sincerely,

Iridescka711

I'm not sure why you thought this chapter wasn't very good.  I liked it a lot!

Sorry about the parent trouble.  I hope things smooth out between them soon.

Author's Response:

I've had a bad couple of weeks, and when I get stressed out I'm not satisfied with anything I do! It's a really bad habit of mine; which I have trouble controlling. I'm really glad you liked the chapter, though! As for the parents part, I personally think they should have just stayed divorced, but never mind that. I'll try to update as soon as possible!

Thanks for the update.  Looking forward to their time on Isle Esme.

Author's Response:

Me too! This writer's block is KILLING me. Thank you for your review!

Reviewer: Daylen (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2011 05:01 AM · On: Private Island for Two

hmm kind of surprised at how readily Esme seems to have accepted the island gift and the dream house... but then, I guess she'd almost be anticipating such things by now? :)

Author's Response:

I haven't quite reached a part where she's really had the time to think about it too much. She's still in awe of the island. Also, Esme is still waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. Like any abusive spouse, Dale wasn't always a jerk. He would have little streaks where he did nice things for her, but it always ended the same way. Even though Esme KNOWS Carlisle would never intentionally hurt her, she can't stop the nagging worry in the back of her mind. A small, but loud, part of her doesn't feel worthy, and she's waiting for her fears to be confirmed. We know better, but she doesn't realize that the "shoe" will never drop in a place where Carlisle does not love her.

I really need to start putting these extra little insights in my bio so everyone can read them. Sorry about the rant. Thank you for the review, though!

Good for Carlisle.  However, I really can't blame Esme for trying. I would! ;o)

Author's Response:

I don't blame her either! I do have a very clear idea of Carlisle, though, and he just doesn't strike me as the type to engage in premarital sex.

Loved the HP references

Author's Response:

Thanks! I'm more addicted to Harry Potter than I am Twilight; which is saying something!

Reviewer: Daylen (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2011 05:36 PM · On: Constant Vigilance

Things are building up!!

I'm not convinced that the island will be as safe as they all think... but we'll see what happens :)

Author's Response:

I haven't decided whether or not the island is really safe. I think my major conflict there will just be a test of Carlisle will power (seeing as Esme has already given up on saying "no"!).

Reviewer: VictoriaCullen (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2011 05:19 PM · On: Constant Vigilance

It seemed shorter to me than usual, but it could just be that I was so eager to read. I enjoyed it very much though--the Harry Potter references were fun!

Author's Response:

Thank you! it was kind of short, but I'm glad you liked it. Harry Potter is the reason I'm addicted to books, so I had to make a tribute!

Reviewer: Elbereth49 (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2011 02:03 PM · On: Constant Vigilance

I really like this take on the world of twilight  :)

Author's Response:

Thank you! It's always nice to see that my insanity is well appreciated!

Pshh! I´m not only a Harry Potter fan, I adore Mad-Eye-Moody and his paranoia. No need for translations. LOL!

I love Seth´s comment about the handcuffs, especially since it´s not very nice.

Great chapter!

Author's Response:

I decided to put the translations in there just in case! Thank you for your review! I love bringing out everyone inner-Emmett sometimes! Chapter 18 is in the queue!

Reviewer: LissLove (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2011 06:12 AM · On: Constant Vigilance

Whooh! Harry Potter ;) You just found my other very unhealthy fascination.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter

xxxLiss

Author's Response:

Harry Potter is the reason I am addicted to books. I started reading them in elementary, and I'm still a huge fan. I'm so excited for Part 2 of Deathly Hallows!!!! The next chapter is in the queue!

Reviewer: ermireallydontcare (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2011 05:36 AM · On: Constant Vigilance

I admit I was confused when they mentioned Dale, for some reason I thought he was dead not a vampire.

I loved the Harry Potter references :)

Author's Response:

Dale had just enough blood left in his system to circulate Carlisle's venom, but Heidi found him early on and convinced him to wait for the right moment to attack; which is why he waited so long!

Reviewer: Daylen (Signed) · Date: February 03, 2011 02:50 AM · On: Follow You Home

ah amongst the drama of Dale being a vamp and on the revengepath, Bella's "secret" was surprising and all the Cullen "kids" reactions to mom was so cute and funny :)

Author's Response:

Yes, Vampire Dale is creating some problems! I hope you like what's coming because it's taking all of my creativity to try and think around the writer's block for timely updates. Thank you for all of your support of this story!

Wow, great plot twist!  The return of the evil Dale and now he is a newborn vamp.  Looking forward to the next update.

Ha ha ha. Their "punishment" if they get hurt is awsome.  I snickered along with Seth.  I can hardly wait to see how they bring Heidi and Dale down.  This chapter made a nice addition to my birthday.  :)  Thanks for the update.

Author's Response:

Thank you! Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
