So ... did he commit suicide and meet her in the afterlife ... ?
Or was her death a dream, and now he is waking up beside her? And if so, is it a straight line story, in which she doesn't die ... ? Or a circle story, in which he wakes up beside her on the morning in which she meets her fate ... ?
Delicious puzzle of a tale here.
Author's Response: It's all left up to interpretation, isn't it? :)

Oh my goodness. I bawled like a baby. I love the way you ended this and the heartfail was obviously fabulous since I cried. Thanks for sharing your talent.

I loved the way you wove past and present together like that. I especially appreciated how raw and vivid Edward's grief was; you didn't back off from that, and that takes some courage. But it gave a sense of how unrelenting Edward's grief was, how he couldn't get a break from it no matter what he did. Beautiful and poignant. Very good job.
