I mean, am I the only one who has been reading staff, including some of the greatest books ever written – for free; And I’ve been doing it all my life, by simply walking to the closest library. Like most people I know, I only buy the books I really love, and they make the collection I have at home.
And now suddenly, I should be grateful to Twilight fanfic writers, because they let me read their staff for free. I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous.
And what about writers being grateful for the opportunity to present their writing to such huge readership as Twilight fandom – for free. I’m not saying there are no writers that appreciate that opportunity, but there are some who clearly don’t, yet great part of the fandom thinks we should still be grateful because they let us read their shit for free, no matter how bad that shit might be. As if.

Okay, rant over.

But once the child is born (doesn't matter if we haven't been present for that and the story begins with the child being a few years old already) Bella is the ultimate perfect mother.

Yes! I love reading realistic pregnancy/newborn/baby stages where Bella isn't supermom and Edward isn't Mr. Perfect. If I had a dollar for every time I read a story where Bella has a baby and then the baby literally sleeps the whole night through and never cries I would be rich. I mean even these teens writers that have never experienced any of that should know someone that has had a baby or just turn on MTV and watch teen mom.

For many of the reasons above, I'm not a fan of the stories where Edward or Bella are single parents and then they meet the other who either has a kid of his/her own or who is ready to jump in and fill the mommy/daddy role. Another reason these stories generally grate on my nerves is that the kid is usually so extremely accepting of (there may be like one chapter of discontent) this new parent that it's almost scary. There's hardly ever any drama from the child feeling like his/her other parent is being replaced. And what I find most disturbing is that usu. where Edward is the single parent, it's because the kid's mother abandoned him/her and the appearance of Bella NEVER brings up a fear in the child that Edward might leave (a quite common emotion, been there done that myself as a kid). They are always just thrilled to have new supermom or superdad and their biological parent is all but forgotten. What I wouldn't give to have lived in that world as a kid.

There was this one good story I was reading where Bella had a kid with someone that wasn't Edward and the kid's biological dad was still in his life yet readers wanted him gone. I don't really understand. I mean why can't Edward and Bella just be good step parents to these kids? Why do people need them to be to be replacement parents?

I've said it before and I'll say it again!

It irks me when an author "removes" a story but leaves up a couple of chapters just to stroke their own ego over how many reviews the story had.

Today I went through my 'to be read" list and went looking for a fic that completed around New Years, only to find that all that was there were 4 outtakes, no story BUT there are 19,429 reviews. No explanation.

If you are going to remove a story - remove ALL of it, you obviously don't want all those that took the time to read and review your story to be able to come back to read it (or heaven forbid anyone new) so why should you be able to go back and read the reviews.

This author has written since then but I will not waste my time for an author who forgets about those who wrote the reviews in the first place.

I wish there was a way for reviewers to go in and remove their reviews in the same way authors can remove chapters!

I second this! FF should tie the reviews to the chapters instead of just the stories. If you remove a chapter, the reviews for that particular chapter dissapear. You remove all the chapters but one and you lose all reviews except those for that particular chapter. I don't think it works this way at the moment since I've also seen some authors keeping a number of reviews they got after a minimum of 15-20 chapters while they've just left 1 or 2 available for free (and I guess we **should** be grateful... ehem...).

Yes. Be grateful they chose to show their pettiness and ignore them from then on.

If there's a story so good I think I'll want to read it again, I copy and paste and store it on my computer as a word file. I have no patience with baiting.

It bothers me that FF can't seem to remember whether I am online or not when I surf their site. I looked for a way to cross out my reviews, but all I could find was the spam alert button and I couldn't find a way to check how it would be if I was signed in, since signing in redirects me and returning to the list of reviews seems to sign me back out.

You should get fanfictiondownloader. It copies the story you want into .pdf, .rtf, .txt, .html..basically what you want without you having to copy and paste every single chapter. Just copy the URL of the fic and it downloads for you. Works with ff.net and twilighted and a few more fiction sites.
With all the pulling and removing and whatnot I've come to copy in advance when I find an interesting looking story. If it turns out to be not my taste, there's always deleting.

I use it all the time, even if I just think I might eventually want to read a story since so many get pulled without warning - sometimes when you are in the middle of reading :-/.

To the ladies that hate on Kristen because of Rob. Hello what universe do you live in?! You aren't ever going to be with him so hating her just shows you're petty and immature.

The only thing I hate about Kristen is her informed ability to act.

Some people can't separate fact from fiction. I don't read Rob/Kristen fics because - they are people and Edward/Bella are characters. I feel like the press makes up enough stories about R/K (I don't read those either). Their private lives should be just that, private, not someone's fantasy.
