It should have been easy to leave Jake behind, as easy as it had been for him

to let her go. Part of her had sort of hoped he’d phase and alpha-command her not to leave,

 but he didn’t. She left angry, knowing that she shouldn’t have expected anything else. She should never have let him kiss her in the first place, behind the church, in a moment of weakness.

What could she have done to prevent it? Seeing Emily in that wedding dress—Sam standing

beside her, looking absolutely moronic with that grin on his face. It had torn her straight in half. A few years to heal hadn’t been enough to erase the damage. Sam had been her first love, and she’d promised to never fall in love again.

            What she felt for Jacob was hardly love, but it had come with a glimpse of a future she was hungry for: one with a man of her own, a blissful lack of awareness of the existence

of Sam Uley. She obviously wasn’t going to find that in La Push. She hadn’t stood a chance against Emily when Sam had imprinted, and whatever it was that Jacob felt for Bella Swan

was just as bad.

            He’d told her his secret: how he felt trapped, but that didn’t change the fact that he never intended to free himself. Kissing and touching were fine, but she wanted what Bella had—

which was all of Jacob without restrictions.

When Edward left her broken and alone, Jacob scooped Bella back onto her feet. For three years, he's tried only to mold her back into a person, but he's sacrificed more of himself than he'd hoped to. Becoming everything that Bella needed while knowing that he'd always be second best to Edward, Jacob stripped himself of everything that he was. His only chance to live again--through the most unlikely person of all--might be fast disappearing as well if Leah makes good on her escape plan.

What if Jacob didn't see Renesmee right after she was born?  What if he and Leah left town together instead?  What if he came back five years later?  What if the first time Jacob sees Renesmee, she looks sixteen, and he doesn't know who she really is? 

This story picks up in Chapter 26 of Breaking Dawn with one small change.  Jacob doesn't imprint on newborn Renesmee.  Instead, he leaves town.  When he finally returns for Charlie's wedding to Sue Clearwater five years later, things are very different between the Cullens and the Wolfpack.  How will Jacob fit in with the Cullen family now, and should we be worried about the Volturi? 

From the moment they met, their eyes, their shared smile, it had always been enough. She'd offered her hand, he'd taken it and they left together, their future was set. They would always be together.

Bella told you the story of our life together, which according to her human memories was correct, she told the story, as she believed it to be. The problem with human memories is that they fade and become blurry over time. Vampire memories are stronger and more reliable. Not to say that Bella didn't tell the story as she remembered it, but I remember it a bit different than she did.

There was quite a bit she had no knowledge of. A lot of things that happened with my family that she couldn't know about and I never revealed to her. This is the story she wouldn't have known to tell. My hope is that it will clear up a few misconceptions...
