Reed had lived for others, and her life had a purpose. My life had no purpose until this moment. I now realized that I was born to protect she who would touch the lives of so many. The whole world was far less significant than the girl standing in front of me. Without her, my life had no meaning. I felt my grip on myself slipping. I could never let anything hurt her.
