This piece is a response to sillybella’s President’s day challenge:

“Since the Fluff Challenge has Valentine's Day covered, here's one for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and President's Day. Write a story about a Cullen "rubbing elbows" with a famous historical figure. The historical figure can be a famous politician, doctor, inventor, military figure, religious leader, activist, author, etc. No limits there. :) The meeting could be anything from a years-long friendship to a chance conversation in an elevator. The timing could be any point during the Cullen's life (while mortal or a vampire) or during the historical figure's life (before or after they became famous). No word limit. The only restrictions are

1) In keeping with policy, the historical figure must be HISTORICAL (i.e. dead).
2) The story has to be plausible to both the real world and Stephenie Meyer's world. (Time travel is out, and no "Carlisle goes on a crime spree with Ghandi and Mother Theresa.") Keep it in character for everybody.Let's set the deadline for President's Day (Feb 18th). Have fun:)”

This story takes place after Breaking Dawn. A prophecy has come to the Volturi's attention. How will Bella react to her daughter in danger?How will Edward and Jacob react when Renesmee is....well, I guess you will have to see :)

Carlisle surprises the kids with a special graduation trip to Disneyland!

Carlisle is paged to the emergency room for a trauma that turns out to be very personal.

"Bella," I replied, walking next to her stretcher.  "I hadn't planned on seeing you till after work.  What happened?"

What if fate took a different course for Bella Swan? What if, after Edward left her to keep her safe, the werewolves were just a minute too late to save her from Laurent in the meadow? Would she eventually find her way back into Edward's arms?

Nurse Swan faints and Dr. Masen insists on examining her.

I was too disappointed with Breaking Dawn to move on, so decided to make the finale more action packed!  I wanted a real fight, and decided to write my own!  Starts in chapter 38 from the book.
