After an emotionally abusive marriage Bella finally finds the strength to leave. With the help of her friends and a new mysterious stranger she starts to discover who she really is. Will she allow her past to keep her from true love or will she risk heart again?

EPOV. Edward is having trouble balancing his urges for Bella's blood and Bella's body before the wedding. What started out as a simple "Practice Fic" has become a retelling of BD from EPOV that lets us see just how much he struggles for control at every turn.

Warning: Edward's got issues. Some dark images and angst, but nothing too bad and quickly giving way to steamy goodness.

All human, Edward and Bella POV. Edward and Bella live in two different worlds, even though they live next to each other. Things get complicated when Edward, the leather jacket wearing cigarette smoking rebel falls for the girl next door.

Excerpt:

“You could have called too,” he counters.  I step back and glare at him.  We are still standing on the steps leading to my small cottage.

“I did call you,” I say tersely, throwing my arms in the air and walking in to my living room, waiting for him to follow me.  I dash back to grab the sharpie from the floor and finish labeling my boxes as he sits down on my couch, amongst bubble wrap and tape.  “Several times.  You never called me back.”

“I didn’t want to…interrupt anything,” he says, mindlessly running his hands through his hair.  “Look, I didn’t come here to argue with you.  I...I missed you too.”  I walk to the kitchen and carry back my last box of dishes and set it on the coffee table in front of him without acknowledging his last statement.  I’m looking down at the box and taping it up when his hand comes up to stop me.  “And…I am sorry, love.”

I roll my eyes at him and toss him the tape so he can help me finish packing.  I am not sure what he is sorry for, and even more uncertain if I want to ask.  Does he regret the way we left things?  Does he regret letting us drift apart?  Or, does he regret everything?

I've taken key plot elements from those books, strung them together with some minor changes, and added a threat against the Volturi to lurk behind the scenes. All of that twists and turns its way to the introduction of my original characters and a showdown with the Volturi.

Look out for: a totally creepy James, a delve into Edward's rebellious phase, a revelation about Alice's past, and a tiny dip into the subconscious of Esme the battered wife.
